  1. I wear underarmour. Wearing underarmour during the hot days make it much easier for me to take my suit off. I also wear their cold weather stuff when its cold outside.
  2. Thanks for the correction.
  3. Yay!!! Until another 1000 years...
  4. I dealt with it by breathing and trying to relax. I tend to visualize on what I'm doing, from opening the door, exit from the plane, freefall, and canopy. During the beginning, I would get nervous when the door light turns on. I was told to give a huge smile which helped me relax. Once I jump out of the door, all of the nervousness went away. And as with Stearny, it took me a dozen of jumps or so to become really comfortable and relaxed. Don't beat yourself up. Just give deep breaths and focus on the task in hand. Now get back out there and jump.
  5. I'm going to have to agree with that. Just thinking about what you are going to be doing on that vacation makes me happier. Though, with my line of work, I would rather take a short in length of a vacation rather than a long one. I would come back and have piles of email to go through. Just what I did when I came back after my AFP.
  6. Ouch, that has got to hurt. Even i felt that. Its funny how the guy asks if he is okay? Yes I'm okay, I just slammed into a trailer.... So what was this guy really trying to do? He had nothing but open land to land. EDIT: Didn't read the comments, "Skydiver attempts to buzz right by his buddies on the ground as he makes his landing but ends up crashing into the side of their trailer."
  7. http://www.bodybuilding.com Cover's everything from bodybuilding, strength and conditioning, nutrition, etc... That site has wealth of information.
  8. That reminds me of the Kickboxer movie with Van Damme, or Kill Bill Vol. 1 with Pai Mei.
  9. Yeah, after reading and watching everything, one thing I learned with just to relax. Altitude, Arch, Legs, Relax.
  10. That's all I've been doing. Leading up to my class, I watched countless of AFF videos. Whether they are AFF "gone bad" or just what people experienced going through the program. Even watching mals. At least I'll know what to expect from a freefall standpoint. All others, I'm pretty sure, I'll cover during the class and talking with other instructors. I've read the SIM guide countless of times just so I can soak up the information better when going through my AFP. I'm curious to know what other people have done. Mike

    The Left Lane

I understand that it's not a race, nor is it my mindset when I drive (I have already learned from my past mistakes). But, if I'm going to cruise at 70mph and the person in front of me is doing 65mph in the left lane, get out of the way. Especially if there is no traffic in front of the person. Be conscious of the rear view mirror, if people are approaching you and you are not passing anyone, get out of the way. And I just want to clarify. When I'm pissed while driving, I'm not going into super road rage BAMF that wants to drive the person off the road. I just get a little frustrated at the fact that the person in front of me is holding up traffic. Especially if there are a butt load of cars that are fast approaching.
  20. It was a new 30 minute segment on a skydiver (Michael Holmes) who survived a hard landing to the ground. And the whole time he had a camera. I say where and how he landed broke his fall, just a miracle to see. http://www.foxcrawl.com/2011/07/17/video-michael-holmes-stunning-survival-in-skydiving-parachute-malfunction/
  21. One of the comments mentioned an actual trailer being played in front of the new Harry Potter movie, so I would expect to see one online within a few weeks. Yeah, and it didn't show much(just a teaser). Batmans new arch nemesis was shown, which I have no clue who it is. And I haven't heard too much information on it.

+1 on that one. With the newer cars nowadays, they typically comes standard with bluetooth. So yacking on the phone is much easier. Texting is starting to become a problem. Yes, I've done it, but at least be aware of what is around you. I pass people and see their eyes glued to their lap. I'm curious to know how many rear endings happen because people text or talk on the phone without being aware of what is around them? And the solution is right around the corner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNi17YLnZpg I have a a lot of respect for you truck drivers. With big rigs like that, they take a long time to stop. So, I sometimes see cars cutoff rigs just when traffic is coming to a halt and having the rig end up slamming on his brakes. Very stressfull. HAHAHAHA. Someone needs to retake the "Rules of the Road" written exam.

I'm guessing your near L.A.? I'd get furious just thinking about L.A. traffic. Right on! I think I would have a new hobby if that was reality.

    The Left Lane

I live in the Chicagoland area, were IL had built an awesome 3-lane I-355 extension and had cut my driving time to work by 25 minutes, instead of the normal 45. It extends through a lot of developing areas, so traffic is pretty light. One morning, driving to work, I approach a car in the left lane going the same speed as the car in the middle lane. And the car in front of me continued to the same speed. At this point, I tend to get a little pissed . I'm mean c'mon at least be considerate! Either speed up, slow down, and move over so I can pass. Needless to say, the car eventually creeped up and moved over. And it was a woman! I really don't know what it is, but woman drivers tend drive much slower then men. Not to bash on all the women out there, just the majority. Anybody else get into "pissed off" situations like this?
