    My understanding (and I'm sure somebody will correct me if I don't have this right) is that the recordings were made in NY state where only one party of a conversation is required to consent to a recording of the conversation.

    I think that the conversation would normally be protected under attorney-client privilege, had Trump not given up any claims to that privilege.

    I'm not saying it's right: it's shady as fuck, but to specifically address the legality of it, I believe that outlines why it's legal.

  5. Forgetting for a moment that this is about Trump, let's just say "A random unnamed President" is what Cohen has done anywhere near legal? Can an attorney record meetings with a client, without the client knowing, then later distribute them? I'm not asking about the morality of it, for obvious reasons, but it just doesn't seem legal, or at least it seems like it should get Cohen disbarred.
    Unless of course he already has been. I just can't bring myself to watch this farce closely.

    Talk to any teens. Most of them don't use Facebook - they use Instagram or Snapchat. Facebook has had its time, and is now becoming the online media used by grandparents.



    I think this is overstated right now. Look at the latest quarterlies. Facebook is not "done" yet. (Much as I would like it to be so.)

    And while Facebook it the company name connected to most of the stuff that's upsetting people most of them realize that it's part of the territory.

  9. Sort of edit: I think the thing I really like about the article is that while it is about a growing gun problem they're talking about ways to fix it now, while they still have a shot at it. It's a nice change over most gun stories and I'm hoping they really do work it out.

    "Metalhead" is the fifth episode of the fourth series of anthology series Black Mirror. It was written by Charlie Brooker and directed by David Slade. The episode first aired on Netflix, along with the rest of series four, on 29 December 2017.

    "Metalhead" is the only Black Mirror episode filmed entirely in black and white, and follows the plight of Bella (Maxine Peake) trying to flee from robotic "dogs" after the unexplained collapse of human society. The "dogs" were influenced by Boston Dynamics' robotic dogs.

    Brooker came up with the episode's central idea by watching videos of Boston Dynamics' robotics products such as BigDog. He found that there was something "creepy" in how the products, if knocked over, would look helpless as they worked to regain their stance.

    Canada seems mostly in line with most of the rest of the developed world so for me it's not 'more than I'd think'.

    What number do you think 'many' people think it would be? And what do you mean by 'many'?

  14. rec.skydiving's glory days were also a time of users with dialups and Ohio University had very limited storage. So every time someone would post a photo two things would happen. Those of us on dialup using newsreader would find out that instead of reading rec.skydiving before we go to work in the morning we'd be lucky if it finishes downloading before we get home that evening. The software we had then didn't let you see the individual posts on the server side, it just downloaded everything. Then I'd get to work and the phone would be ringing. IT was threatening to stop accepting rec.skydiving because of the amount of storage. These were the days when the zip drive and its 100meg storage disks was a mammoth breakthrough in storage.
    So I got a reputation with OU IT for being a wasteful jerk and on rec.skydiving for being a complaining jerk for nagging people not to post pictures.
    Oh, and the endless crap because I don't wear a helmet.
    But I really really miss it. I think it's like when we get nostalgic for rounds. We don't really miss those canopies, we miss being 25.

    It looks nice but since this is a boogie a room is just someplace I can crash then have a shower when I get up. A couple hundred a night for stuff that seems nice, but I'll never use, is a little steep for what I need.

    Ach, didn't check the prices. They've come up quite a bit since my day. There's a few trucker motels in Taylorville, and a chain place (Days Inn, maybe) we nicknamed the 'red eye.'. A couple of Indians ran it and the place always smelled like curry. Springfield would be your next choice, about 30 minutes.

    My primary demand is no bedbugs. And I want A/C. After that I'm pretty flexible. I'm wondering about the Gaslight Motel. It's close enough to walk to the dz (though maybe not with gear).
    Anyone familar with it, or have any other recommendations. I'm hoping to arrive late Thursday, check out of the motel Sunday morning and head back to Ohio late that day or night.

    But that has nothing to do with the way people just attach whatever descriptions they want to. I think most Trump opponents don't even want to know, it's easier to just say "they're obviously low intelligence" when, if they knew a few, they'd know isn't the case.

    And then there's the Nazi thing. That really bugs me. I won't argue with the sentiment but the term. The only people I've ever known to use Nazi as a slur was petulant teenagers and people off their meds. It's right out of a Cheech and Chong album.

    Someday Trump will just be an ugly grease stained memory, but will all the vulgarity and viciousness that some people now feel free to express ever go away? And it's not limited to Trump opponents yelling at Trump supporters, it's become a standard thing "I hate Trump so fuck you, and fuck you and you. Because I hate Trump!"

    Hey all! New to the forum and the world of skydiving! Currently in process doing my AAF for my A license. I'm finding that the bookwork is much harder to understand then actually jumping! Love the world of skydiving so far but am still extremely nervous after 11 jumps in. The free fall is my favorite part but I just need to figure out how to relax more....I hear it after every jump with my instructor...any thoughts??



    Relaxing is probably the most important and hardest thing to learn. But it comes. Just keep jumping and you'll find yourself relaxing more and more.

    Hey everyone, I've been obsessed with flight since I was a little kid and always knew I wanted to learn to skydive. I'm getting to the point where I have the time and money to make that happen, however after doing some research it seems I may have a problem. I'm about 6'3" and 260 and from what I've read, alot of training places have a weight limit that isn't 260. I've also read on here ,some post from about 15 years ago, about big dude skydiving. One guy was 6'9" and pushing 350. But what I read was you need to find an instructor willing to chase you and a place with rigs that can support big guys. I live in northern California and I'm having g some issues finding a place that can teach me. So if anyone has any info that could help me out I would appreciate it. Also, if I do find an instructor but can't find a parachute, would it be wise to purchase one to learn with. Thanks for the help.

    I don't know where you're at but in Ohio Steve Alexander used to specialize in big guy tandems. When Taylor Skydiving in Lancaster would get a request from someone too heavy they'd refer them to him. He'd then come to Lancaster and take them up, and sometimes he'd have been approached by someone and would bring them to the DZ.
    So it can be done, it's just that you won't find it listed on most DZ's websites, if any. But ask around.

    I don't agree with them, I'm not sure I even understand them, but I know a lot of Trump supporters and people who write things like that about them have no idea what they're talking about. They don't like Trump supporters so they just pull whatever they want out of their ass and say it. Then wonder why nobody pays much attention to them except of course for those who already think the same way.
    They're just jerking each other off.
