there will be fwc's at the fitz boogie next month in georgia. not sure how far of a drive it is for you, but im coming from 10 hrs away Thanks for the info but it's a bit far for me. Busy that weekend too.

Is there any DZ in the North Carolina area that provides WS FJCs. I tried Raeford and TSC. Don't really want to pay for a flight so anywhere within a 5 hour drive of Raleigh.
-
Thanks for the replies, very helpful. Now to put it into practice, hopefully the weather is good this weekend.

I'm looking for opinions on the best random exits for a new rookie team. Was thinking it would be good to have about 3 or 4 exits that we could practice to nail everytime. So easy exits and/or exits that transition to other randoms easily. Thanks.

Has or does anyone wear FF pants/jacket in the tunnel and how to they compare to a complete suit? Are they tunnel friendly?
-
Can you provide a bit more info on what it does.

Out of the 22 blocks, which ones are assigned to the A category and also which ones are added on when a team moves to AA? I searched around a bit but couldn't find specific info.
-
Thank God you added the smileys, I woulda done all of that

Thanks for the replies. To confirm, I will not be getting it repacked until the ADD is back from Vigil. I do have someone (not a rigger) lined up to help with the removal
-
I have a Vigil AAD which I need to send to Belgium to get checked out. Is this something I can/should do or is it a task for a rigger? Do you need to take out the reserve before you can remove it? Thanks.

Try Raeford to see if they'll give you a 3 month membership. I jump at the IPC but I'll be in Raleigh from Sept to December so I'm hoping they can do me a deal on tunnel time. As members you can share the tunnel time (4 way?). Send me a pm if you're interested.

Thanks for all the info. The picws and link are very helpful as well as the other tips. I'm 90% sure it's vectran going by the replies and the pics but I will double check. On a similar subject: does a couple of small patches on a canopy (say a 150) affect its performance much? How does it generally affect it's value when selling?

Hi, I have a safire2 169. Is the type of lineset usually stamped somewhere on the lines? If not, what is the best way of telling the difference between say vectran lines and spectra lines. Are certain canopies always manufatured with the same lineset type? And finally, is it straight forward to swap main canopies on a rig or is it soemthing a rigger would have to do? How much does it cost approx? Thanks.

I jumped here for two days. Stayed in the bunkhouses for 2 nights. Even though I couldn't speak Polish I immediately found people to jump with. Nice facilities on site and the Supervan 900 is a very nice/quick jumpship. Very big landing area and also a more advanced landing area. They also jump near Gdansk where the landing area is on (near?) the beach. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to jump there. I wish I could have stayed longer and got more jumps in.

Thanks, there are a few closer DZs than this but none have a pink skyvan. I'm going to contact them tomorrow.

Can anyone recommend a DZ near Prague, preferably one that opens during the week. Thanks.
-
Thanks for the info, I'll check out Skydive Nuggets as I'll be working near Stuttgart.

Are there any DZs in Germany open 7 days a week? Or even ones that open on some weekdays. Thanks.
-
Thanks, the email address on the Website doesn't seem to tbe working. They have a recent update on their Facebook page which indicates that they are jumping this weekend.

I'm going to be travelling a bit in southern Germany this month. A couple of the dropzones I contacted are closed until March. Does anyone know any DZs in southern Germany open in the next few weeks? Thanks.

Employer's attitudes to skydivers

That was interesting to me. Do people actually put hobbies on resumes? I don't have or put any on mine. I keep my personal life out of my work life except when coworkers become friends. None of anyone's business. Over here we use CV's which are very similar to Resumes but are structured a little different. On most CVs you would have an 'Interest and Activites' section. To not have this section would look very bad. I used the word resume as the majority of posters are in the US. -
Employer's attitudes to skydivers
jimmurt replied to jimmurt's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
True, I remember a few years ago I was told to take reading out of my hobbies section on my resume as an interviewer might judge me as a loner or a person who couldn't as part of a team. Bit over the top I thought. -

I went with the second option with my boss. We get on well with each other. Maybe reading what I said earlier, it might have came across differently. My point is, tell people you spent the weekend drinking and you get a positive reponse (maybe it's because I'm Irish, I don't know). Tell them you were learning to skydive and you're nearly looked upon as being reckless.
