It only has a 305 under the hood. I would love to put a 350 crate motor in it but dont have the cash. It does great for being a small 8. It was rebuilt about 11000 miles ago. When I got it it only had 4000 miles on it. I think with new gears in the rear end it will really fly. It is a 1981 Chevy 1/2 ton. Its a work in progress. I know where you are coming from on the gas milage. I am lucky to have a tank last 1 week. If i stay off of it the whole week I can squeeze a week out of a tank. It is a freedom of speech and I do appriciate that. The fact that they abuse it to such an extreme and intimidate people with the way they use it is what sets them apart in a way. But the black panthers did the same type of thing. Malcom X convinced a lot of Black Americans that "we were the Devil" that also sparked a lot of hatred and conflicts.
