  1. Note that in Canada they have privatized MRI offices, where you can pay approx $800CAD and get your MRI faster then what the government is offering. They have these places all over Vancouver. So its not like you are only dependent on the social system, however with the social system NO ONE is turned down. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer

  4. isn't that the very definition of socialized medicine? No, in socialized medicine everyone has the opportunity to get the same help. No one is turned down because they dont have insurance. you missed the point (probably on purpose) - it was about everyone getting it, but only a few paying for it - just like you complained about - that damn "roomful of illegals feeding off" of "your system. heck - you paid for it, they didn't, AND you were bumped to the back of the line. This is a great victory for social democrats everywhere. REJOICE - it works as hoped. As someone with money, your job is to pay for the public emergency, AND go off and find your own private emergency room and pay for that out of pocket. SURE - that's NOTHING like socialized medicine at all..... but that's the way it is I dont see how "heck - you paid for it, they didn't, AND you were bumped to the back of the line. This is a great victory for social democrats everywhere. " is a victory. It's simply an example of the failure of the current system. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer

    Star Trek Enterprise

I really got caught up in this show, and watched most of the episodes from 1-80. I skipped 81-99, and jumped into 100. What the hell happeend to the characters? It threw me off because the people in the show are the same, but their characters changed. What happepend in those 20 episodes to turn this show completely around? 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
  10. That's basically undercooked pork. So there might still be a correlation to lack of refriguration. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
  11. Doesn't that leave out Jews and Muslims? I have jew in me. I've been eating pork all my life, and havent gotten the pork kuddies yet. lol. Off topic - I am curious to find out the real reason jews and muslims dont eat pork. I think most of the religious food rules stem from the old days when there was no refriguration, but why pork? It's so fucking good! 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
  12. This is a prime example of why I should not have my pocket picked for others' healthcare. Shit heads. We live in a community, and not some self centered world. If we have any human in us, by nature we want to help others. Some cultures are brought up that way, others are not. I like to believe that when someone needs help, I'm there for them. You want to help others, but you claim you want to be seen and treated in the ER before anyone else regardless of the rules of triage. Move out of the country ASAP. NO! I am only claiming that I want to be seen before the individuals not playing by the rules. Period! 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer

It's funny that most of the extremely self-centered individuals posting here were also beneficiaries of a taxpayer subsidized education. And that's a good point to. We have both socialized and privatized schooling, but why cant we do the same for healthcare? 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
  14. You are right. And there is one of the problems. I think the job of the federal governemnt is to focus on a society and look at the big picture. However, we live in a very individualistic culture, and we do not care as a mass about the "health" of the society, but are rather concerned about "me, me, me." We need to look at solutions that find a good medium between how individuals benefit, and the long term benefit to the society. And if all fails, we need to simply get together and have one big cook out (I'll do the pork shuolders) 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
  15. This from the guy who was pissed off because he was waiting while others were being helped and complaining about customer service? Actually, we humans want to help ourselves and want others to help us - usually we'd prefer that it happens BEFORE others get helped. We are far more willing to help others when there is something in it for us. In your heart fo hearts, you know this is correct. Your actions showed that to be the case. And I am not insulting you by saying this. I'm regarded by many on here to be a dick because I admit "that's the way it is." But you did complain that others were helped before you. Helping them was of no interest to you. Yeah I was upset to see a room full of illegals feeding off a system I have to pay into, and getting the same care I was hoping to get (though I gave up after 4 hours). But that's the way it is. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer

Sure...the difference is that you choose to help of your own free will, not by coercion. I dont think that coercion and community "dues" are the same thing. If you are part of a country club you have dues. If you are part of a community, you have dues. Maybe Im wrong.....maybe being part of a community should "dues" free, and shuold be all about "me, me, me". Then again, maybe not. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer

  18. Bull - that's what triage is for, to determine who gets treated first. Get your "I *pay* for my healthcare so I should go first" socialized medicine mindset straightened out first. If I live in a system where we have to pay for insurance, I expect to be seen before the guy who doesnt pay. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
  19. Since you're talking about the Constitution, maybe you can show me just WHERE it explicitly states that the government is responsible for "feeding the people, educating the people and providing healthcare for the people" t doesnt. But i do believe that every government shuold better its inhabitants by educating then and keeping them healthy. It's better to have a smart healthy country, then to have a country full of sick dumb people. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer

  22. Colgate-Palmolive and Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation have teamed up this year to help children with Sickle Cell Disease and their families cope with the pain, fear and isolation of this terrible disease. By providing FUN CENTERS in hospitals, these children can forget about their illnesses for a moment and remember how to have fun. We asked you to “Show the Love” by voting for a hospital to receive a Fun Center. The outpouring of support has been wonderful, and Colgate-Palmolive is awarding all nine participating hospitals a Fun Center! And now you can make an even bigger difference. Voting remains open through February 29, and the hospital that receives the most support will receive an additional Fun Center! 24. Not just normal Business Hours, Most Urgent Care places are open pretty late. Of the 3 that are closer to my home than any ER, One is open till 10pm and the other 2 are open till Midnight. everyone should check thier area and see if there are Urgent Care places near them and when they are open. Could save them ALOT of time in the future should they need care quickly. Honestly I had no idea about these urgent care places, and not sure if they exist in my area or not, but definitely worth looking into. 7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
