Do you think this is a safe transition to make while in the 30-60 jump range?

I've flown a Sabre2 150, really liked it as it didn't seem like too much. Currently I have a 155 that is probably more related to a more square Sabre1.

Obviously the Stiletto is a hp canopy, but if used with more caution for the first 50 or so jumps before gradually testing it, do you think it would be alright?

No! and definitely not at your jump numbers. anyone can fly a HP canopy conservatively, but what happens when something unexpected happens and you dont have the experience to fix it or escape unscathed...its a really bad idea all around...get something more suitable to your experience like a sabre 2 or a pilot or a safire 2...something along those lines...i guess the PD storm is now in that levle too.

Seeing how it is VZW carrying it, my first question is:
How many features are being disabled?

I was with them for five years, but left because they refused to sell me an un-crippled Razr.

VZW doesn't "fully" cripple their smart phones. About the only think I know they don't allow with them is UMA via WiFi, but other than that, everything on my BlackBerry works fine...Google Maps, Bing, BBMaps, BlueTooth...

what do you mean by "UMA" ?

i've noticed quite a few people at the DZ skydiving with headphones.
is it distracting in freefall? can you even hear it?
i figure i should wait till i have a few more jumps before i should try it, or does it not really make that big of a difference

and what do u guys listen to who jump with them?

    joey

I often take a little DVD player with me and watch a short movie whilst in freefall - or one of my soaps that i've not had the time to catch up with.

It's amazing how much you can fit into a skydive whilst multi-tasking ...:S:S:S

I was trying to watch one whilst BASE jumping the other day but couldn't find a program short enough - does anyone have any suggestions :P:P:P

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/10/27/airliner.fly.by/index.html

The pilots are now saying that they were on their laptops looking at and discussing company policies. While being out of contact with ATC for 90 minutes. Amazing. And yeah, neither of these guys should ever fly with passengers again.

i think your figures are a bit wrong, they traveled 150mi...if it was 90min passed there destination, they would probalby be close to out of fuel if not run out by then and be traveling at....approx. 115mph+-20mph

I have the same respectful curiosity as with the last thread you started: why such elementary instruction at your jump numbers (60, per your profile)?

I've made 60 jumps, and although I have now met all the requirements for my B license I have yet to complete my A license exam. They way they do it in my country is give you a bunch of questions and ask you to go off and discuss them with people at the DZ until you have all the answers. Unfortunaterly, I live many hundred miled from the nearest DZ. So what I have done is use dropzone.com as my 'virtual DZ' B|. I've put a couple of questions out there and have got some great responses back, Its been extremely useful - At the DZ someone might say. 'X is the right answer', on these forums I'll get a few different answers, some at odds each other, others variations on a theme - its up to me to compare the feedback and work out the best answer myself.

can't wait to see how your skydiving career grows, learning everything off the web is a fantastic idea ;). where do you live?
