  1. I do teach low turn recovery in my FJC, not failed swoop recovery. Really, Ive never seen or heard of this being taught in a FJC, I really believe overloading students with too much info can be a big mistake. I remember it being drilled into students heads, no turns below 300' only very minor corrections. And thats where I feel the topic should be ended as far as FJC. Not adding " but if you do find yourself in a turn low to the ground...." It should be no low turns PERIOD. Adding a "but if" is just opening the door. I think the additional process will add to the confusion of everything thats allready being demanded of these super excited overamped students. I think we need to keep it as simple as possible. I really think it may be a mistake to be teaching that in a FJC. Please dont take this as an attack because Im only voiceing concern, and many times this is no set in stone right or wrong, which is the hardest thing in teaching fjc's, teaching enough but not too much

  3. yea open riser covers are no big deal........Until you see your toggle(s) floating around unstowed, beleive me its real scary and after deployment can be tough kick out of or control before it spins all the way up. although I jumped a vecor 2 freeflying for 200jumps and didnt have a problem I did have the problem above with a stunts container with worn out tucktabs. be carefull!
  4. well it sound to me like dan made some opinionated statements and maybe some "hype" that could not be backed up with physics or facts its too bad he cant go back to erase these statements because at this point it sounds like nothing can be done to gain any real respect with some people . Any way at the rate this is going If I were him I would feel like from this point on I would have to write then read then reread then have someone else proof read and then question every word and expect every word to be disected not that any of you have, but I feel all this tension yet I have nothing to defend. Oh well maybe an apollogy and an oops wont do it again would help. hopefully we will see!
  5. thats strange how certain canopy sizes of a certain model can be so different than all the rest of the sizes I mean all of the original sabres opened quick but the 150 WOW even my 2000 150 sabre had to be sent back to pd to be slowed down and thats after they knewabout the 150 problem I dont know exactly what they did other than the slider but it worked it may be quick still but at least not painful. any way any others on the cobalt
  6. I have read your report of the cobalt slamming you a few times now but not really any others. I am wondering if you had packed it weird or got a bunk canopy, wrong slider,or something out of the ordinary.
  7. I heard one persons complaint of this that it happened three times to them. is it notorious or just one odd person with problems? I demo'd one and had twists a few times on subterm dumps off the strut where I went out kind of sideways against the relative wind so I blamed it on this.Just wondering is it the same as a stilletto, a little touchy to body position. or are very experienced people having problems? ahh yes I know about flying the opening and body position etc. I am just wondering if this canopy is specifically sensitive cause I really liked the 135 but did not put enough js on it to really know it.
  8. I sure didnt see these questions answered. why? also hey guys lets be civil it loooks like afew of you really have a personal issue with dan, do you have stock in pd or something? may be it would be easier for dan to answer if you wernt so aggressive?! dan come on man stand up and be straight forward with your answers the questions are very specific and pleeeease dont repost the same shi!@# that you have reposted again and again, or admit a mistake for false claims. just put an end to this
  9. I think the reason he may have thought you waited too long was between you cutting away and waiting 500 feet to get stable Pulling is the priority, stabilty is secondary, as long as you knew where you were (2000') then a couple seconds might be ok but in a high speed malfunction it could be easy to loose track of time. good job dan
  10. not to sound like a dick but I was not looking for a quote from an advertisement but a COMPARISON based on EXPERIENCE. THANKS PHREEZONE 135 IS THE SIZE IN QUESTION FOR ME. but back to the topic other than looks, any other comparisons OR DIFFS noticed thanks all
  11. Has anyone directly compare the two at an equal wing loading. I am wondering how they compare as far as speed, flare/lift, glide ratio, riser pressures etc.
  12. does anyone know if white zp would last longer do to reflection of the degrading uv rays, and would it be noticable over time?
  13. when i try to check my email an error shows the session has expired even though I just loged on
