  1. Sweet, we were told there were two octo's hanging out on Belmar's house reef wich was the same as ours. We never saw them though. We ate at Buddy's bar and the lions den. Buddy's did look nice. Our house is literally right next to the air station at Belmar and is called Casa Iguana. We had a blast and will certainly be going back.

Anyway, thanks for the info; got what I needed to know. I'll snoop around San Marcos next time I'm there and see if I can learn more.

Good luck, different owners now from when he was there, and i can only think of a very few people who would even know who you were talking about. Try getting in touch with his management to start.

I wish somebody would come out with one. The face shield only needs to crack open as far as I'm concerned. I'd probably deal with one that doesn't open at all if somebody was making a full face FTP type thing. I hate goggles.

Doesn't Brian Buckland jump a vapor wes pro with a face sheild?

  4. Yes, Cory did tandems and AFF at Skydive San Marcos. It was all shortly before his run in with the cops about his cocaine use, and right after he signed a writers deal with a nashville label. I don't know if he ever finished AFF or not. I don't think his instructors are still around but i am not sure who all taught him either.:)

  5. I can't help you at all with the assembly but i can direct you to Phreezone and Kris, they are always geeking out over doing this exact thing. Oh, and i heard it helps if you have on your teva's and black socks while doing the assembly:P:D:D

It snowed and it's only October, the peaks higher up are snow capped, Now we are going to have to put up with those loud mouthed city folk
with their stupid cars and no snow chains blocking the roads, and generally causing havoc,

Oh well time to raise the prices and fleece every last cent out of their deep pockets, :D

Down here our tourist season is summer and one of the greatest bumper stickers i ever saw was on an old farm truck and it read, "If it's tourist season, how come we aren't allowed to shoot them?" I also saw a waitress wearing a shirt and on the front it said, "Tourists get half off" On the back it read, "for locals, we take it all off":D:D

  9. I'm with eeneR, i took it as an out and out threat, with the way he smirked when it said "it's dangerous being a fed" I freakin' love this show. I asked my wife the other night if she wanted to be referred to as my old lady:D:D She didn't think it was funny, she just doesn't get it.:|

well i posted this under the swooping and canopy control section, is there any swoopers or canopy pilots who would like to chime in on the post that i made....thanks

(i guess you guys are to busy in the air swooping to be on here answering questions)

Most of the top swoopers in the country are competing at nationals right now:)
I can tell you that i started learning how to use my rear risers for landing purposes and for swooping early on. I taught myself how to do it on a cobalt 135 and then carried that on to my CF@ 109 and my Katana 107. I will tell you that a lot of people learning to use them tend to hold on to them too long before they transition to toggles. If you are stalling your canopy on rears then you are either putting in too much input or holding onto them too long. A canopy will stall at a higher speed on rears than with toggles. Be careful out there and don't do what the rest of us did, get coaching!

  12. I have jumped using several different colors of goggles. Blue is the only ones i didn't like. They screwed up my depth perception so bad i threw them away! I was just thankful that they were making me flare too high as opposed to too low.;)

  13. Billy,
You don't have to sharpen an edge, a regular metal spoon works well. Just use it to scrape all along the inside before you carve and it makes things a lot easier for the designs to show through and also to cut them out.:)
I used to cut the dz's logo into a pumpkin every year for the haloween boogie. They changed their logo recently so i don't know if i will do it this year or not. The other one is the Gravity Rats logo. That one i did just to see if i couldB|

Oh yeah, I am a cheap ass and will be looking for lodging deals in the area too so Tahoe is out!

This is probably a dumb question, but I've always wondered... How do they take out rods they put inside the tibia?

I saw a video of this that someone posted on facebook and i wish i hadn't. They open up your knee to expose a part of the rod, attach a slide hammer to it and start beating on it in an upward motion to remove it from the inside of the bone. That is why both of my Tibs still have a rod in them!!:D:D
