  1. Ok, so it's almost the weekend and although i've got to work this saturday and the weather doesn't look fantastic ... And i've just paid to have my reserve re-packed and am about to pay my BPA membership !!!

SO IS ANYONE ELSE PLANNING ON FLYING THIS SUNDAY / MONDAY who is happy to fly with a low - timer ...

I'm thinking of heading either to Weston but could make Langar / Sibson /Chatteris (if these DZ's are happy for me to fly my GTI) ...

    So who's flying ???

    :)

  2. Thanks Gus

It would be cool to jump with you again. It looks like there are a few options for me - i wasn't sure if i could jump back here but it looks like i might be in luck - there seems to be a few places where i may be able to get in the air.

I'm up to my eyes with work but hopefully i'll be able to get to Langar or Weston this weekend - otherwise it will be two - three weeks before i've got another day off (unless I skip work!!!)

I appreciate all the replies here and also the pm's that i've received, i'm looking forward to jumping with everyone ...

    - i guess i'll have to stump up my BPA membership fees now !!! lol ...

  3. Hi guys

sorry about the delay but it took a couple of extra days to get home after the plane developed a malfunction in the engine abd there was no available flights home for 18 hours plus a re-route via newark on a different airline !!!

Anyhow, i'm back and looking forward to jumping my GTI at somepoint soon. I must say a big THANKYOU to EVERYONE in NORCAL for making me feel very welcome.

Ed - thanks a bunch for all your advice and teaching ... I would recommend anyone to visit and learn from you ...

Avery - thanks for all the tips and the T-shirt !!! (not to mention the shiny red GTI !!!) - I'd love to see the video - if you can send it back with Jules that would be awesome ... And it was a real pleasure to share your 100th wingsuit jump (from a plane !!!) ...

Jules - thanks for driving, see you soon and hope the love affair with "Big A' is still going strong ...

Finally, thanks to my agent ... !!! lol getting carried away there !!!

Hopefully i can jump back in the UK and if not i'll be back as soon as i can to join the flock ... Otherwise see you all soon (I hope) ...

  4. What is the current situation regarding jump #'s and wingsuit flying ... I have just made my first wingsuit jumps and all is going well. I am returning to the UK tomorrow and I was wondering if i will still be allowed to jump a wingsuit back in the UK ???

I currently have approx 280 skydives and hopefully will have made at least 6/7 wingsuit jumps in the US. I have taken coached tracking jumps first then groundschool followed by a checkout jump with a BM Chief Instructor. I also have my first flight on DVD and my log book signed off ...

Is this sufficient to be allowed to jump in the UK???

    Thanks

    James

  5. Well after being weathered out for a couple of days i finally got to do my first jumps ... I did ground school with Ed a few days back and today we got in a coached jump and he cleared me to jump ...

What a fantastic experience ... thanks to Ed and all the other flockers @ Lodi ...

I finally understand what everyone's been talking about ... now all i need is a suit of my own ... Anyone got anything suitable for a 6'0 180lb newbie?? lol ...

See all you flockers later ... :P

  6. It will soon be friday ...

You know... you could have a scenic drive through Yosemite National Park between TWF and SFO. Jumping's not allowed yet, but it's a real pretty place to visit.

Yes i was thinking that i might stop off and see if i could help the rangers as i hear that they're always looking for base jumpers ....

  9. Hi Tom

Like JFK said we're definately thinking about heading over for the last w/e of april. I've got a flight back to the Uk from San Fran on the monday morning so it might have to be thurs - sun because there isn't an early enough flight from TF to SF on monday ... Unless anyone's driving from the SF area ????

Of course i haven't forgotten - i'd misplaced your address and email and had asked our friends in FLA to get you to contact me ...

So it's very good to hear from you ...

I'm not sure if i'll make it across from Norcal this trip ... But i'll try !!! - I can't miss out on a good beer and some fine sushi !!! if not i've got most of August off and was thinking of spending 2-3 weeks at TF and maybe visiting MOAB once i've got my numbers up ...

...wondering if there's any objects locally which are suitable for a VERY INEXPERIENCED jumper like myself.

More than one. If a local doesn't contact you, send me a PM and I'll try to put you in touch.

    Cheers Tom

Ps i met one of your FJC students the other day ... he's counting down the days !!!

  12. I've decided to escape the snow and i'm heading for the San Fran area for a few well earned days rest between 22nd April and 1st May. I'm probably going to head for Lodi to do some skydiving but was wondering if there's any objects locally which are suitable for a VERY INEXPERIENCED jumper like myself.

Otherwise if any locals are happy to have someone for groundcrew during that period then i'd be happy to oblige!!

  13. Thanks Jason for the airport details ...

Don't worry about it .... I find technology really helps sometimes and usually makes life even more complicated than ever !!!

Anyway life could be worse ... I could be working for a large corporation and living in a cold country ...

What do you mean - I DO ?????

    owwwww ....

  14. It's always sad when a few people spoil things for everyone else.

This is a wonderful place to teach BASE in a (relatively) safe environment. Many people (myself included) travel hundreds or even thousands of miles to learn at this object - it would be a shame if it didn't exist in the same (LEGAL and Well Supported by the locals) way.

If these people are really jeopardising this object then perhaps they were either unaware of the possible impact of their actions in which case i'm sure they'll try to keep the peace from now on. If they really are aware of the consequences for everyone else and just don't care then i suggest it's time for them to think again >:(

It's a site that should be preserved for everyone's enjoyment :)
I thoroughly enjoyed my FJC on memorial day week ... Please ensure that others have the same opportunity ...

  15. Mac If you haven't seen it ... i can lend you a copy of "standard issue" ...

Hope you're feeling better soon mac and thanks for the help with the packing lessons :)
