PERSEUS ADVENTURES 2nd annual Mission Challenge 2008 Well, this time it’s not rumors or hearsay, it’s a fact jack, another opportunity to test your physical endurance as well as your marksmanship and the ability to perform as a TEAM. The date has been set for the weekend of September 26th thru September 28th at Skydive Chicago. As suggested by last year’s competitors (it could be tougher), this year’s course has been designed to be a much tougher challenge. You will encounter obstacles that will require total team cooperation. Make no mistake about it, you will get dirty, wet, muddy and tired. This event is not for the weak of heart or short of breath (you will need to hold your breath), so now is a good time to put out that smoke and drop that jelly donut (salads for you). There are some rule changes for 2008, the main one being all competitors must jump and all competitors must fire a weapon (NO EXCEPTIONS).   3. PERSEUS ADVENTURES Mission Challenge You’ve heard the rumors and the hearsay and you’ve been wondering, is it true or not? Well it’s finely here, the chance to test your physical and mental fortitude, as well as your ability to perform as a team and test your marksmanship. The date has been set for Saturday October 27th at Skydive Chicago. There will be a mission briefing at 07:00am at which time you will be shown the course and given all other details. This is a team event. Teams will consist of four persons. All teams will be required to provide their own equipment, weapon and ammo. The land navigation course will be approximately 2 1/2 to 3 miles in length. Average time to complete course is approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This course has been designed to be a bit tough, but it will not be so tough that you won’t be able to complete it. You will get, dirty, wet, tired, and, maybe even angry, but remember this is a challenge. As with any mission *#”^ happens and things change so be prepared. All participants will be required to carry simulated mission weight and hydration. This mission is a timed event. The clock will start when the first team member is under canopy and will stop when the last member of the team crosses the finish line. Teams will also be graded on their tactical movement (stealth). The Mission will go as follows: Accuracy Jump: (weather permitting) Points will be awarded for accuracy. Land Navigation: course will be mapped and marked. Pilot Rescue, Firing Range and Extraction: (via zodiac raft) will take place just north of SDC. Minimum of 40 rounds. Land Navigation: final stage. Their will also be bonus sections in the land navigation course. RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT: Back Pack, (aka) ruck sack, able to carry minimum of 20Lbs. Boots, at least above ankle height (watch them ankles). Clothing, Loose fitting pants and top. Remember! As with skydiving, DRESS FOR SUCCESS NOTE: All state of Illinois and local ordinances must be obeyed. All out of state participants must show a valid ID or driver’s license in order to either, poses a weapon and or ammunition, or to discharge a weapon. All Illinois residence must have a valid FOID card in order to either, poses a weapon and or ammunition, or to discharge a weapon. All ammo and magazines must be turned in prior to the start of the mission, and will be issued back to participants at the range portion of course. NO EXCEPTIONS Their will be a participation fee of 20.00 per competitor to cover material cost. BYOB for after event gathering. Bragging rights, smack talking, jive talking or just plain bull *#@*?
