So I've been overly stressed recently, and I'm wondering what other people do to get their minds off of the every day stresses of life. I think my escape is being productive at something, like working on video or writing music.

I got a new cutaway handle and I, of course, need to trim it up. What is the best way to cut it so the end will be smooth? Any certain tools/techniques I should use? Any information would be great....thanks!

I think what he's asking here is this....if the Bible was written by MEN, be they holy men or not (and speaking of which, I can declare myself a holy man right now and 1000 years from now you wouldn't know any better), they were MEN. How are we to know that they weren't just 41 crazy yahoos that were talking to themselves?

I'll tell you one thing....I've met people who think they have spoken to God personally, or that God speaks to them through some sort of telepathy. In these modern times, these people are locked up because they're crazy, and nothing more. Just because you find people simple minded enough to believe you doesn't make you any less crazy.

The truth is, the Bible was written by MEN that had questions about life and death that they couldn't answer, so they did what every other religious weirdo in history ever did.....find an answer, any answer, ANYWHERE AND ANYTHING, as long as they have an answer so they can sleep better at night. That's how all religion was born, some desperate men seeking answers and resolving to make them up and pass them on to future generations as fact to give comfort about death.

In my opinion, yes. Not necessarily for "all" of our problems, but for the wars of the world, absolutely.

Instead of a universal made-up religion, I think we would be far better off adopting a "religion" of science and fact.

Yes, you CAN die. Yes, it IS dangerous. But it helps to know that we don't jump old school rounds that open about half the time. You have to remember that these are every day whuffos, the people that ask "What if your chute doesn't open?". Knowledge of the subject at hand will at least give them the ability to provide an educated opinion, which IMHO, will be a MUCH better one than the opinions based on skydiving's tattered reputation when it comes to safety.

When it comes to the $ thing, sell everything you own. That's what most people do. Don't spend money on anything else (like new clothes, forget them) but food, and eat less (or cheaper stuff). You'd be surprised how much money you'll have for skydiving.
As for them being afraid of you dying, EDUCATE EDUCATE EDUCATE. Have them learn all about gear and how the weakest link is now the jumper, not the equipment. The more you ALL learn, the more comfortable everyone will be.

Yeah dude, I thought of the exact same joke when it happened!

.....without having any idea.

So last night, I'm in bed with my girlfriend laying in my arms, and we're both asleep. I wake up in the middle of the night to her mumbling or moving, I'm not sure, but anyway, I woke up. She has kind of a sassy attitude (especially when she's annoyed or when someone does something she doesn't approve of), so I thought it a bit strange to hear her randomly blurt out "You BETTER keep your hands to YOURSELF.". I, of course, ask her quietly, "What the hell are you talking about?", to which she replies, "I have a BOYFRIEND, get AWAY from me.". I look over her shoulder and realize she's sound asleep and dreaming. A small thing, yes, but man, I didn't have a hard time at all falling back asleep with a big smile on my face.
Just thought I'd share. It's the little things like that that make you feel good.
And shit, I was the one whining about my trust issues a week ago....I think it must have been my time of the month or something.
