    On February 21, 1965 I made my first jump. 50 years later, on February 21, 2015, I want to celebrate by forming a "50" formation over Skydive Deland. We are also going to jump some old PC's we have. So, if you have an old canopy (1:1, LO-PO, PC, Delta II, Paradacyl, Para-Plane or Strato Star, and want to get on the old folks load (it's FREE), call UPT (386) 736-7589 and let us know. Bar-be-que and old PROJECTED Carl Boenish movies are also in the mix.

    On June the 27th 2014 at Voltige Armand Gendreau became the oldest man to do a tandem jump at 101 years and 3 days old.
    He broke a 14 + years old record hold by Bjarne Maeland a Norwégian who did a tandem jump from 10500 on September the 8th 1999 at the âge of 101 years and 21 days old. Since it was too late for the 2015 book it will be in the.

    I just saw this on facebook. I am new to the sport but I have often thought of how dangerous things falling from the sky can be to us and others on the ground. I worry about rafts, hula hoops, etc.....and even cutaway mains. Of course the cutaway is in a different category. Be safe.

    Depends on where 'around' is.

    He's up in my area, Toronto, Canada, along with a big pile of wingsuits, maybe for a couple years, although he still make trips south of the border.

    First time I saw him at a local DZ, Skydive Toronto, I walked up to him and said that he looks kind of like DSE. Which DSE probably would....:P

    So Mr Spot is not on DZ.com even from north of the border?

    Certainly one could get into courses for different types of camera flying, or for the particular type of equipment used at a particular DZ. The OP was probably just thinking of the very first course one would take, perhaps a mandatory safety course rather than optional advanced techniques.

    Someone like DSE could probably set up a dozen different courses without a lot of overlap, on basic camera safety, videoing 4 way, basic tandem video techniques and equipment, stills techniques and equipment, advanced techniques, and on and on ...

    I think some of the spelling errors we're experiencing are due to, the tablet, cell phone operating system or something technical like that.

    Correct but I suspect with the boogie option, it could be the winner. IOW go away to the OP.

    Could be helpful if there was a stickie in the bonfire and general skydiving referring all camera questions to the camera forum. But that's up to the mod,

    dz.com needs the traffic so argue away. Again and again and again.

    In hindsight I should have posted it in the camera section, I'm just curious to see what people think would be the best way to progress with camera and not have useless video's. Maybe a program of about a 100 jumps where your progression is monitored and improvements made while you focus on different skills or something similar to AFF where an instructor jumps with you on tasks. On almost all other skydiving disciplines there is a set course you have to complete to prove your skills before receiving a license, would something like that not work for video's?



    It's complicated. What's the rush. Want free jumps as a videoit.?

  17. When we lived in if no the motorcycle cops used to wash their cycles in our company motor pool.

    Got pulled over a couple of times for going to fast:( Gave them our drivers license
    Then they would ask us where we worked:o

    As soon as they found out it was the same company, were they got there free
    Self service indoor cycle wash. We got a pass:)
    Until one day we got caught in a speed trap. The officer apologized for writing us a ticket, explained that his Sgt was running the trap, and he didn't have any choice.[:/]

    Growing up in the Bronx everything south of us was downtown. I heard the people refer to Manhattan as the city. We commuted to H.S. from Da Bronx to Brooklyn, always referred to the subway even when it came out of the tunnel at Yankee stadium, and the track went elevated aka the L. It was the subway.

    Saw some very funny stuff riding the subway 10 hrs a week for 4 yrs.

    Since you live so close to the ranch, I'd like to suggest if you hear the planes flying
    Or just a nice weekend day. Just drop by and check it out. No charge to look.;)

    There's people coming way up their from Da Bronx, and all over the NYC, Jersey, and who knows where else. Or how long it take them to get there[:/]

    How many different languages do you speak? :D

    Take another look at the list.

    A significant # of the Tms didn't have that many tandems

    Do you remember the guys from the Coors team.

    Two guys from the team went up together between the TM and the passenger they ea had 1000' s of belly jumps. But the TM only made a few Tandem jumps after he got his rateing, and wasn't current doing tandems.

    I think after that one the option for the passenger to be able pull a handle was added.
    Talk about ground rush. The poor guy in front knew something wasn't right all the way:( The TM was busy trying to figure out what to do.

    They ea had multiple kids, with no life insurance.:(

    Now that the tandem bucket list flood gates have opened, the TM can get lots of jumps very quickly. And should be able to stay current.

    Glad you got out of that one. What a concept, break the law or get a ticket for obeying it.

    I think that's called a professional courtesy, or discretion. Great link.

    One hot day I was l leaving Ft Lewis after work and was throwing back a cool one.
    The state patrol pulled me over for something like failure to use a turn signal when changing lanes. Officer friendly, was more interested to see what I was drinking, it was a nice cool one of soda.:P

    I only got a verbal warning on that one.:)

    Driving while back:D:D.

    We used to drive beaters, we used to get pulled over for lots of reasons, tail light is burned out. [:/] The officer was stopped at a 4 way stop sign heading north we pulled up heading east from the exclusive lake and stopped at the 4 way.

    The officer should have gone first but wouldn't move. So we did[:/] He pulled up behind us and stopped us. He took a close look at our back seat with his long metal flashlight for stolen property, t.v., stereos etc. Than requested the drivers and passengers license. We lived in the next town east.

    Got off with a warning for a burned out break light, before we left I wiggled the connection. The light came on and we were on our way.

    My all time favorite was when we drove the same car to see a friend that was visiting her parents in a small farming community in Illinois, not sure close it was to Chicago but those folks were very alert.

    We were wandering around dark thirty trying to find our friends house. The volunteer police patrol stoped us in mutiple cars ask for both of our drivers licence. We complied, then they asked what we doing in their town.

    Looking Susan xxx. One of the volunteer cops says, yep we noticed she was back in town and gave us directions, we were close just not close enough. When we got to Susan ' s house she was waiting at the door for us. Lots of folks had police scanners in case the volunteers needed back up.

    The black folks aren't the only ones that are profiled. Happens to poor folks more than you think. You don't know what you don't know.

    Don't have a clue why everyone still has to take off their shoes for the TSA. I'm surprised they allow anyone to fly wearing underwear.:D

    I could go on about the police and sheriff's in king and pierce county. I don't see the upside in dealing with them. [:/] I refuse to let them enter my house. It is what it is.
