  1. I just made my 5 th jump on my new Stiletto 190, loaded to .98 to 1, it has meet my every hope. The openings have been very soft, yet it came to open in 300 ft (which I like). All opening have been on heading, except one did a 360, it was a very docile canopy during fast sashay's, where little altitude was lost. The flair on landing was excellent-- left me with a very soft landing and was very well behaved as far as heading control was concerned. The packing is another story---as my only other canopy was a F-111---this zpo is a slippery, slithering, slick, greasy pile of parachute. Push here and you get an aneurysm there---you can't get the air out easily---but it sure does suck it in fast. I'll get it, sooner or later, I don't give up quickly (probably a good trait). I would recommend this downsize to another jumper in a similar circumstance's---no regrets-- Blue Skies To All D-2626, SCR1999, SCS641, NSCR2350, GW6909 Blue Skies!!!!!!
  2. Thanks to all of you that have responded to my post. I am leaning away from the Stiletto because it may be to much of a leap, also leaning away from the Saber and Spectre because of the opening distance(I prefer to open lower). I am now considering the Aerodyne Pilot 168 although I'm not sure yet how long it takes to open. Can any one make a comment on that? I'm sure some of you may wonder why I like to open lower, well I would rather be tracking for another 500ft then going straight down doing nothing. 3. I have friends that jump Saber I + II but their openings are 700 to 1000ft they tell me and I like a fast opener, 300ft or so. D-2626, SCR1999, SCS641, NSCR2350, GW6909 Blue Skies!!!!!!
  4. I'm 65, 180lbs, have about 2500 jumps in 10 years of jumping, Now jumping a PD210 that has no bottom end, no flair at all. I'm tired of it and want something better. I'm kicking around a Stiletto 170 or 190. I like what PD advertises about it , my friends who jump mainly Sabers think it's to big of a jump, what do you think. 5. I'm not try to advertise, just some help. http://www.skydivingopro.com/osc/images/Mounts/ Remove the supplied "wing bolt" and replace it with an allen screw 6mmx.6x 25mm Also http://www.skydivingopro.com/osc/includes/languages/english/support.htm Click here for SolveigMM AVI Trimmer 1.6.zip This is a great program for a quick edit of your videos. 6. Check out mounts @http://www.skydivingopro.com/osc/images/Mounts/ make sure you look at how to reduce snag points. Don't just take the GoPro and stick it to the top of your helmet, think as to how you can reduce any snag point. Also consider how to make the camera exit proof. Purchase the Hero Grab Bag mounts pn#GGB30 for more options. The decisions that you make will (hopefully)prevent the loss of the camera or a very scary mal. 7. This what GoPro says in the owner manual: "USING SD CARDS The HD HERO camera is compatible with 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacity SD and SDHC cards. While all speed cards work in the camera, GoPro recommends minimum Class 4 speed cards for reliability when shooting HD video. GoPro’s own testing has shown improved reliability in high vibration activities with name brand SD and SDHC cards." So I would say SanDisc or Kingston. 8. A new Lithium-ion battery will benefit from an initial "conditioning" of the battery. For the first 3 charge cycles, fully charge the battery overnight and allow it to fully discharge before recharging. Once conditioned, Lithium-ion batteries will perform best when charged at a rate somewhere between a conventional slow charge and a rapid charge. When rapid charging, Lithium-ion batteries require a charger designed to charge Lithium batteries. To achieve a true full charge when rapid charging, the battery needs to be slow charged the last 10-15% of its charge cycle. A Lithium-ion battery may be damaged by extensive overcharging (continuously on a charger for more than 24 hours). To sum up, get a wall charger GoPro pn#AWALC-001(get it here http://skydivingopro.com/osc/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=60) for the first hour of charging then finish up with usb charging for the next hour or so. Hope that helps. D-2626, SCR1999, SCS641, NSCR2350, GW6909 Blue Skies!!!!!!
  9. Get a GoPro Wide, set it for stills every 2 sec. and it take 30 stills on a dive, one of them has to be a keeper. Its not for a pro but if your a fun jumper wanting video's and stills you can't beat it. D-2626, SCR1999, SCS641, NSCR2350, GW6909 Blue Skies!!!!!!
  10. Here's a video I shot with a GoPro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ8Ku2YpCzc I think there great, easy to setup no fuss no muss. D-2626, SCR1999, SCS641, NSCR2350, GW6909 Blue Skies!!!!!!
  11. I didn't log jumps for about 5 years (1972-1977) and so I used my 1900 logged jump as my official number but in reality I have somewhere between 2500-3000. D-2626, SCR1999, SCS641, NSCR2350, GW6909 Blue Skies!!!!!!
  12. Had 2 that I blame on the PC and 2 more that I blame on me ( one I thru together, the other was a capewell that came off on DC3 exit). I looked after posting this reply and felt there may be a misunderstanding. When I used the term "PC" I meant Para-Commander not Pilot Chute.
