  1. Detroit isnt that bad... there are citidiots in any city. I see you like scuba diving,, about 1hr north in Lake Huron there is a marine museum with about 28 sunken ships to dive on. There are a few dropzones in the area. Randy does a nice job at midwest skydiving about half hour drive north There is an ice skating rink downtown detroit. If you like casinos they are located downtown. I know a few Docs in the city. There are a few downhill skislopes located nearby. email me if you need more info.
  2. i was speaking to my first jumpmaster a few weeks ago, he has been in the sport almost since it started and he was saying that the jumpers of new are mostly greenlight jumpers. I asked what he meant and he said most of the jumpers today watch for the greenlight. then jump.. are newbies still trained to spot the drop, and have the awareness they need to get done safely or are they relying to much on the technology that has been brought to the sport. another thing i have noticed is that PLF training seems to be on the back burner nowadays..
  3. in 99 we lost ten in a plane crash. I know your pain. keep the faith... Ill check for some gear and see whats available. Cant make any promises but ill make the call...
  4. the bigger the boat,, the more stuck up they are.. the more jumps you have doesnt mean you should snub others.. if someone doesnt jump are they still welcome at the dz,,, i say you bet... doesnt matter to me if you jump or not. Come one come all,, watch the fun and enjoy the view.. get a slot,, take a plane ride.. have fun whatever U do... remember your first jump,,show others how to have fun and you will too....
  5. i am always amazed at the bill boards on the side of the highways,,, " 1 800 LAWSUIT " or 1 800 Divorce . wonder why insurance is expensive or our society morrally crumbling,,, if its an accident,, its an accident,, if theres gross negligence,, then look at the bill boards...
  6. when i was training,, i heard of " Vern Jump" it was a photo dude who got so tied up with his video that he loaded the plane wihtout his chute, but had his camera,, he loaded first so the others thought he was there to video the planeride. when they left ,, guess he just followed em out the door.. last thing that was heard,, was Ah,, shit... after that no chute no plane ride...
  7. hey PhreeZone, I havent jumped in awhile, medical, but bros have many jumps.do I need to jump to help others have fun? maybe i should change my nick to "groundcrew".. lol I still luv to watch the faces and experience the excitement it brings to all those who jump. 8. hey all, thanks for your thoughts about starting a dropzone. Kinda makes me think and study a little more about it. Ive looked at a bunch of gear, 6 tandem rigs, two aff rigs and a few rental rigs. Helmets, radios and Alttimeters. was told theyd throw in a cessna 182.. lol I hear the cessna is the backbone of the industry. Whats your thoughts about the plane. I have access to a KingAir and was wondering what you think about the king... A Casa would be nice,, but lots of $$ Im looking for a location and wondering where to settle in and make a million.. lol I luv the sport and just want to survive this and make my mortage payment.
