  1. I think the low wing loading idea is a good one... I watched Freaksis land her Hornet (loaded about 1:1) this weekend, and she still had lots of drive on landing, and got herself a nice, soft, standup - under great pressure I might add, 'cause it was really muddy...
  2. yea - I'll be out this saturday for safety day for sure - I'll get sis to introduce us! It was funny - we figured out that we had "met" before we met online here, and again in person last weekend, at SDD... I was there for customer appreciation weekend in Sept(?)(I wasn't jumping again yet) and helped pour beer on sis 'cause she got her SCR that day... I was just to drunk at the time to remember it !
  3. I got a chance to hang out (okay, okay, get drunk!), and jump, with freaksis this weekend, and it rocked!
  4. so true grasshopper, but a search of the fatality archives will also show that it's possible to kill yourself under even a lightly loaded F-111 canopy (it's been done)... so remember that whatever you're flying, it needs to be flying straight when it lands, and plan accordingly! 5. I was introduced to SDD in June of 2000, when my wife decided to make a tandem jump for her 40th birthday... I called several area DZ's, but selected SDD based on the aircraft available and the extra altitude they provided... The place was very easy to find, the facilities were all excellent, the staff was very friendly, and my wife had a great time! So when I decided to start jumping again, I made SDD my home DZ. Since then, I've gotten to know a lot of the people there, and it's just a great mix of folks! The combination of great aircraft, first rate facilities, and wonderful people, make it a great place to jump!!!
