  1. Our DZO took an elbow to the face by a FS jumper and busted his nose exiting a skyvan... f*ckin flatties....
  2. Fantastic thread! Ive ticked off plenty on the list... id like to add freefall nosebleed whilst filming tandem , see attached pic ( unless you are squeamish ) The inside of my nose was cut by the overly long teflon cable of the tandem rig on the TI infront of me going up my nostril as he shuffled around on green light... i didnt realise itd actually cut me till i left the step leaving a nice big splatter straight up the side of the plane. Not thinking the tandem student would notice, i carried on and filmed his jump which looked like a slasher movie by the time id finished. ( no blood on him or the TI, but my lense was splattered all the way down ) The looks on the faces of everyone on the ground when i landed were priceless, especially his friends and family. The student had noticed but had cooly shrugged it off as an altitude nosebleed and gallantly said it didnt spoil his jump, he even tried to insist on paying me for the vid which of course i wouldnt accept any money for. Quite a clean-up operation afterwards, & my rig is still stained
  3. You know youre a skydiver when......... You waste hours on this forum.
  4. Hinton was awesome, cheers to everyone there. Really friendly DZ. The PAC was broken but the islander did the job. Shame they have to stop jumping at 7pm, something to do with keeping the locals on side. Sunset jumps wouldve been nice but other than that a great DZ.
  5. QuoteAye, Sarah and Mike. I saw them last week, they just returned from Mercer. Sarah will be up there picking up her repack i shall imagine. Yep, i got to know them at Mercer, will be good to see them again
  6. I was truly spoiled jumping the porter. All of my (meagre) 120 jumps were made from it except for a handful from the C185 & C172 when the porter was broken. Its a tough act to follow! The skyvan at Nethers should be fun though....
  7. Should i know her? There was a Sarah at Mercer, her man was Mike. Didnt know her surname.
  8. I'll be at Hinton on sunday, looking forward to jumping the PAC750.
  9. So im told, i'll be there for sure. Always wanted to take a running jump out the back of one of them.
  10. Not yet, just arrived back yesterday. ( at last, warm weather, NZ was FREEZING! ) It'll prob be nethers or headcorn to start with, gotta cough up to the BPA first though... Duty visit to 'rents this w/end but after that i'll be takin to the skies again.
  11. Freeflying: darkside CRW: even darker side Youve all overlooked the darkest side of all: tandem mastering
  12. I made my 100th last weekend after only 3 months, fair play to you girlie!
  13. Thanks nigel, and everyone else for your suggestions. I will have a car so travelling wont be a problem. Except during rush hour.
  14. "I knew someone would comment on me replying to someone with the name 'Blondebombshell' " Bigway got in there 1st though, so who's the real player.....?
  15. Will do. I'm only coming back temporarily, should hopefully be back in NZ by xmas. Mercer is a freezing swamp at the moment ( it still rocks though ) Looking forward to summer jumping & not having to clean mud & cow poo off myself on no-wind days
  16. At last, you spelt my name correctly! Have a gold star. Nina and Libby STILL havent got the hang of it....
  17. Hi Jill, you cheeky mare! Really good to hear that you're jumping again honey. Thanks for that, i 'll be back on 6th july so be great to see you sometime after that. I'm not "anti headcorn " by the way, like i said ive only been there once for a tandem. I just heard a lot of conflicting stories from other jumpers about the place & was fishing around for further opinion. See you soon. xx
  18. Im returning to south london in a couple of weeks after 5mnths in New Zealand. Apart from a tandem at headcorn ive never jumped in the UK. Ive read very mixed reviews of a couple of DZ's near london. I just want to jump somewhere that is as friendly and welcoming as Mercer as i dont know any other jumpers in the UK. I dont mind travelling ( within reason ) to find the right DZ. Any opinions & advice gratefully received!
  19. Thanks for that, I'll be keeping my locks under control after reading those threads. Dont want to risk a main/mane entanglement.....
  20. Yup, thats pretty much what i thought. I dont fancy being scalped. Had to ask though, wondered if anyone else had tried it.
