Just wanted to close this one so everyone knows what my experience was in Prague. I just got back from a weekend at the tunnel in Prague. Cestmir took charge of us, and I can only say that the quality of the coaching was BRILLIANT. I'm sure that if you sent a mail to [email protected] they would likely put you in contact with him or you can PM me and I'll put you in contact with him. The tunnel is fantastic. The facilities are superb. Restaurant good is really good and well priced. The staff are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The facilities for teams etc are also great. With more then enough room to debrief, and keep your stuff safe. I've been to quite a few tunnels for a bit of time here and there, but this is by far and away my favourite one. I forgot my wallet whilst I was there too. I could not believe how much effort they went to get it back to be as quickly as they did. Total life saver! It is no surprise to me that they have now started taking bookings as early as 5am... it is not going to be long before they are open 24 hours a day. xx dear skydive arena: Thanks... I'll see you in a little while when my wallet has recovered.

Clearly when all the events are actually taking place is somewhat weather dependant but does anyone have any idea about when each of the events are planned to be taking place. There is loads of detail on the website about where to go to see each bit. http://www.wpcuae.ae/. I'd really like to go and watch the swooping but some more indication other than "sometime between the 30th and the 8th" would be really helpful. I am not likely going to be able to negotiate with the wife for permission for 8 days of just sitting out by the swooping pond so would really appreciate any insight. xx

Hi, We're a group of 3 tunnel enthusiasts. We're looking for a tunnel camp in Prague for later in the year when it gets a bit colder. (Like October) Does anyone know where/how to find out about camps that are happening at the skydive Arena in Prague. Thanks

$ 2250 for a 7-level AFF course, Too expensive or ok?
bobert replied to cmnt's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
EB is a wicked DZ. They have an amazing set up and the atmosphere there is just great. However for doing your AFF you just can't overlook the dollar exchange rate right now. It makes it pretty much just as cheap to fly to the US and do the jumps there. My advice would be: if you want to do it as cheaply as possible then go to the states. If you want to go to a DZ where you are certain to meet people from Europe that you'll probably jump with at least a few times again then go to EB. -
why not open your own DZ?

How come there is only EB on the Spanish version of this? Ok so it is really awesome but it can't be the only one in the whole country.... I'm in Alicante in a week and wondering if I should take my stuff with me for a jump or two. -

Flying From UK to Spain With A Rig ?
bobert replied to Inthebuff's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A couple of tips if you're planning to travel with your rig as hand luggage and it is not in a bag. 1/ tie your chest strap through your reserve handle. If a friend of mine hadn't done this it would have been a very difficult job to get the reserve back into the container whilst in the security area. As the idiot in security picked it up by the handle. 2/ don't forget to untie the chest strap before you jump. Heard a horrible story about a guy doing 3 jumps before someone pointed it out..... really horrible feeling in my belly after that one. -

Wow that brings back memories..... I did some static line jumps there when I was a student, nearly 10 years ago.... (gave up because I was a poor student and couldn't afford it) but is really cool now that I'm back in the sport to look back and remember how petrified I was of that view! Looking down on Nethers..... gulp!!!!! -
The unusually poor weather could not spoil my fun at skydive deland. It was great. I just completed my AFF jumps there and even got a few extra jumps in afterwards too. Everyone there was really friendly and helpful but also really professional t'boot. Another good thing about deland is that you are pretty close to the tunnel in Orlando too so even when the weather is bad, you can still "jump." I couldn't recommend this place enough. I'll see you there, cos I'll be back.
