  1. Will start AFF next week, say I don't have to repeat any levels and learn pretty quick, how many maximum jumps will I be able to do in 1 day (9:00 to 19:00)? taking into account all the packing time, waiting between loads, sensory overload, soreness from the openings the first few jumps maybe?, etc...
  2. Ok the reason I'm really worried about injuries during my AFF is because I will begin the Air Force's boot camp 1 week after I finish AFF, I want to become a Pararescue jumper, it involves everything I like: Parachuting, helping other people, adventure, action, lots of adrenaline, etc. (please don't let this become a politics/ pro-war vs anti-war debate, I enlisted because I want to experience a lot of things and do cool stuff while helping others, period) I want to do my AFF NOW because I will NOT have time later, that's for sure, lots of training, studying, etc. plus I want to enjoy my civilian life while it lasts hehe. Well there you have it, that's the main reason I'm worried about an injury completely fucking up my plans. Some words of wisdom to calm myself please?
  3. Can you tell us the story about that incident in level 1 pleeeasee?
  4. Lulz no dude seriously, being a wuffo and all I'm still more worried about injuring myself than killing myself, a broken ankle or whatever would be catasthrophic right now, I just don't know what to expect from the landings. I guess I've been reading too much about students landing on their asses and getting compression fractures and messing up their cervicals, or missing the flare and getting a twisted knee, etc, damn too information can be dangerous sometimes
  5. I will finally begin my AFF in a few days (weather has been an issue these last weeks) and this question was annoying me, I hope to complete all 7 jumps in about 4 or 5 days if everything goes OK but was worried about the possibility of injuring myself (twisted or broken ankle on a landing, broken leg, injured knee, etc) because that would keep me in bed for months and I have some important things to do the week after I complete my AFF I know I will be using a huge student canopy and the gear is in excellent shape, I trust the instruction I will receive in the DZ, etc, but I just can't help it I'm still nervous (which is a good thing in part) Are injuries too common among students? If I miss the flare on the landing with a 0.8 loaded canopy, will the landing be hard or not so much because I will be on a huge canopy?
  6. They removed the video from skydivingmovies, we can't download it anymore, WTF!!!! someone upload it to rapidshare or something, we want to see what happened! not fair
  7. I'm having a hard time finding this song: -Touch the sky I read it's from a group called The Nerds or something like that, not sure, I have searched for weeks to no avail!, if anyone has that song please send me a private message. I have the song from Point Break's skydiving scene and the song from '2nd BASE' DVD if anyone wants to trade, both are hard to find.
  8. You mean the top skydiver gets over the other jumper's canopy, catches it with the legs somehow and drives him/her wherever he decides? Like that scene in the movie Drop Zone (1994) I think?
  9. I was reading about Taz death (freefall collision), how they couldn't revive her with CPR after taking her out of the water, etc, and they say the other jumper broke one leg and managed to survive the landing because she was "top docked", what does that mean?
  10. What do you guys mean by "inside" or "outside" video? Yeah Europe is truly expensive, sucks, you Americans complain about gas prices lol! you should come to Europe some time when the dollar regains its value or something because if you come here now I think you would spend your life savings in 1 month hehe.
  11. hey guys I have reviewed both Lillo and Empuria prices and I think I will go with Empuria, their AFF program is like this: -FJC -1 Tandem jump -7 AFF jumps -Canopy packing course -Video of the whole AFF - 10 extra jumps after you graduate All this for about $2500, plus AFF students get a 50% discount at their bunkhouse. Lillo is charging an extra $80 for teaching you how to pack your main (that is separate from the AFF price according to their site), F that!, plus it's $13 if you want to stay in one of the local motels, in Empuria it's $9. All in all I think Empuria is the way to go, I will pay about $2500 but at least they teach me how to pack my main and give me 10 extra jumps. In Lillo you have to pay $3200 for 15 extra jumps plus another $80 for the canopy packing course, wow...
  12. Talking about doing the AFF course, HOLY BEETLEJUICE I'm nervous shitless hehe typical wuffo sensations, just thinking about jumping out that door gives me cold sweats and shaky hands already wow, I just hope I do everything correctly and don't pass out or fuck up when the time to jump by myself comes. I've been wanting to do this since I was a cute little shit watching Point Break in the 90's lol. I seriously hope I don't pass out from shock in the middle of freefall or anything from acknowledging that my dream is finally coming true after many years of waiting and saving $.
  13. This course includes. -FJC -1 Tandem jump -Levels 1-3 with 2 instructors -Levels 4-7 with 1 instructor -Video of the whole thing I'm a wuffo looking to get involved in the sport, I'm in Europe right now (Spain), Is this price too expensive compared to AFF courses in the US? I have to choose between Lillo and Empuriabrava, haven't chosen yet
