Did you even watch the video?  I’m really starting to think the folks who still believe this green energy nonsense are suffering from a type of mind virus or that has become a sort of pseudo religion.

You're starting to sound like Winsor with that talk.  EV's are the future for a number of practical reasons, before you even factor in the environmental impact.  You seem dead set on charging ahead as if climate science is bunk, and there's an infinite supply of fossil fuels to continue on our merry way.

Not to 'I know you are but what am I?' your post, but the climate deniers have a lot more in common with religion.  Facts and science be damned, you're holding fast to your beliefs!

You'll be old/gone before we're out of fossil fuels, so no point in trying to make life livable without them eh?

Not sure what you are complaining about....?

"Congress at the urging of the Biden administration agreed in 2021 to spend $7.5 billion to build tens of thousands of electric vehicle chargers across the country, aiming to appease anxious drivers while tackling climate change.

Two years later, the program has yet to install a single charger."

50% of cars sales are expected to be EV by 2030... so there is plenty of time for the infrastructure to match the demand.  and the money was not nor ever intended to be spent all at once or in any given period of time.

even red republican Florida is on board: fdotevmp.pdf (windows.net)

BH was on here roughly 3 months after the Inflation Reduction Act was passed, clutching his pearls at the lack of change after spending all that taxpayer money.  It's the shit that makes you wonder if he's legit trolling or if he really doesn't understand.

Al Jaber told reporters Monday, “I have always been very clear on the fact that we are making sure that everything we do is centered around the science.”

“I honestly think there is some confusion out there, and misrepresentation and misinterpretation,” he said, adding, “I have said over and over that the phase down and the phase out of fossil fuel is inevitable. In fact, it is essential … it needs to be orderly, fair, just and responsible.”

Thereby having his cake and eating it too.  He got in a sound bite for everybody!

I believe there is some truth to what Cygnus said. While they are not the same, I believe it is a legitimate concern having 2 candidates in their 80's.

I would think the Democrats would have a couple of strong candidates that are younger than Biden and by removing the legitimate concern of a president who would be mid 80's at the end of his 2nd term the likelihood of beating Trump would be increased. Trump is evil and it is worth doing whatever it takes to ensure that he is crushed at the polls.

I partly agree with what you're saying, but one part of the flip-side argument is that Biden represents 100% of people who have defeated Trump in a presidential election.

If it comes down to Biden v Trump, it's a question of 'successful statesman politician grandpa' vs 'vindictive insurrectionist grandpa'.  It's not like Trump is representing the youths, and despite his doctors' claims that he's healthier than any olympian they've ever examined, I'd put money on Trump popping his clogs ahead of Biden if a gripper's gonna take one of them down.

Not that my Texan vote will matter, but it'll be for Biden.

Species bias? Trap and release has never worked. For example, every weekday morning collection vans drive the neighborhoods collecting kids who are then released into a colony of kids where they do little harm. Has that worked? Nope, there are more of them all the time.

It's just 'cause they forgot to neuter the little fuckers

The problem is that it not an occasional songbird. Over a billion, possibly 2 or 3 billion, annually in the US are not unusual estimates.

Fair enough. I don’t like the thought of dead birds either, but cats are predators and hunters ‘gonna hunt. The best way to minimize the damage is to control the feral population, and the best way to do that is TNR.

  7. TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) is the most effective way to deal with feral cats.  Take a trapped cat in to a TNR facility and they'll give them shots, spay/neuter and cut off the tip of the left ear...The tipped ear is an internationally recognized indicator that the animal is fixed.

TNR lets the animals go about their business (after a shitty day or two) and keep living their best kitty lives, killing rodents and other  pests (and unfortunately, the occasional bird) while keeping the population from completely ballooning out of control.

Years ago I built a jig that could be bolted onto a live animal trap.  It had a solenoid to actuate the door of the trap, and a Bluetooth SOC where when an animal entered the trap, I'd get an alert on my phone and then could confirm what animal was in there and if it's the one I was trying to catch, actuate the door from the app.  The idea was to keep from trapping a possum or trapping a cat that's already been fixed if there were multiple cats around.  I think part of the reason it never went much further than my back yard and a few people in the local TNR community was that most TNR people are retirees volunteering their time, and they weren't super huge on new technology.

    I dunno.  Not buying it.

Seriously doubt companies would be laying off in these numbers in a good economy.

A good economy doesn't mean every single company is growing like gangbusters.  Looking through that list, the majority of companies are tech firms that grew like gangbusters during the pandemic and are now adjusting to the new normal where people are actually going outside more.

Some of them are new leadership coming in and shaking things up.

Some are Binance: if you wanna pin layoffs at a crypto exchange with a fraudster CEO (yeah, another one) on the general economy then there's no point in going further.

The one thing on that list that does get my attention is Opendoor laying off 22% of their workforce, citing the high interest rates that are keeping the real estate market cool.  With inflation coming under control, here's hoping we can stick that soft landing...

You may assume my motive is to disagree with you, please know it's actually the opposite.

Agree or disagree, it’s all the same to me….most of the time I can’t understand what you’re trying to say anyways. I usually get the feeling that it’s vaguely sinister, though.

  11. I popped over to Fox yesterday when the border car crash was first reported....dozens of comments on that story confidently declaring that Biden was directly responsible for this terrorist attack.  No need to exercise any thinking skills beyond 'anything bad is because of the left/Biden'.  Yet we've all got TDS.........

It is pretty silly...the actual number of lies that were not documented is WAY higher.

NOAA says I’m right.  The effects the kids are feeling is not physical endangerment it is psychological trauma from the never ending cavalcade of disaster porn they are subjected to. There is a real danger in declaring every misfortune a result of climate change, it obscures the true story of poor infrastructure, land management, planning and emergency response.

So it's the official position of NOAA that man-made climate change doesn't exist and isn't a danger?

The Corrupt Media is prepping the simple minded for the forthcoming ouster of Biden from his position as nominee.... They say anyone else has a better chance.

It's a year out from the election.  As the election draws nearer and we get through primary season, more people will get exposed to more of Trump and be reminded of how absolutely batshit crazy and unhinged he is.  I've got a feeling that most people on this forum are more engaged than many, but the majority of the country hasn't been tuning into politics and they've not seen much of Trump in the past 3 years....definitely a case of absence making the heart grow fonder.

It’s not time for either side to be getting cocky about the outcome of a Biden/Trump rematch.

Glad you can't be swayed by the corrupt media's attempts to manipulate the simple-minded.  How many times did you post about how the House Republican's had solved all of their problems in the 3 weeks between them booting Kevin and appointing Mega Mike as Speaker?

If he’s nothing but a ‘melted wax phallus’ how can he be the threat you make him out to be?

Im assuming you’re just baiting with misspelling ’easy’, but maybe that’s just who we’re dealing with here.
