I have heard from some locals here that there has been an event/boogie a couple of years ago and was wondering if anyone of you guys could provide me with a contact #/email of someone who was involved/participated..... Thanks and Sunny greetings....from...... the Maldives

  10. hey guys, I'm headin for perth-australia beginning next month and I have exactly 14 days to freefly my a** off. any skydivers in perth who could recommend a dz? I am planning to head to skydive express...but if anyone has another favorite please let me know. I hope that there is a dz which is operating on a 7days/week basis. wold be nice to hear from anyone. so long!
  11. Wax On - Wax Off... yup.....that's how I do it mate, I found a place here where two ladies wax your complete back for $8 and you even get a green tea and a foot massage usually I don't care about the hair, but I started to scare small children at the beach
  12. thanx for the advice guys....there are some point of views which really make me think more clearly about this whole issue. as I said, I do not expect anyone to solve my problem, but it's just very important to get some feedback from other skydivers. I 'm staying in Vietnam at the moment, working in this hotel and the problem with the boogies like Laos or Thailand is, that they take place mostly in the time when we have a high occupancy in our resort. but anyway as a couple of you mentioned before, there are still other opportunities available [windtunnel, australia etc.]. I guess that I should just go with the flow, enjoy the ride and wait for the moment when some dz's will open in asia. and sorry to dissapoint you Krip, I am a guy with a hairy back Blue Skies my friends, the next Tiger Beer is dedicated to you!
  13. so I have been living in asia for the last 6 months and there ain't no dz here. I've got anoter 6 months to go which means that I will not skydive for 1 year my boss says, that I should apply for another position in asia after this year and it's a good investment in my career, but now I'm struggling because I miss skydiving so much. if I go back to europe I will definately be able to do my skydives but then I will have to take some drawbacks concerning my work into account. I don't expect anyone here to find or provide me with the right solution [it probably doesn't even exist] but it would be nice to hear some different opinions from skydivers, as the people who I work with would never understand my sport related concerns.
  14. I never really paid much attention to my canopy for the first 100 jumps. For me the FF was the most important thing. But after whitnessing a couple of accidents I signed in for a canopy handling course and after those few days of training, I realized how much valuable time I've lost by not paying enough attention regarding my canopy skills @ every jump. This course gave me so much, I wish I would have been assigned to it automatically after receiving my skydiving license.
  15. so I've moved to a new country, got a job and struggle to cope with the work load. there is no dz here, my rig will come in may and I am just trying to figure out, how to survive the next 2 1/2 months without skydiving. what really concerns me is that my last jump was in december and I just have the train of thought, that everything I've learnt in the past [e.g. from the canopy or freefly seminar] will just vanish slow but steadily anyone else experienced a similar situation? any hints?
  16. Hey Thijs, after reading so many positive posts from the skydiving community doesn't this show U that there are really some great people in this sport? And besides, if U really love skydiving, nothing in the world should prevent U from doing it! especially not somebody else who is a hot shot at the DZ. Do U really want to miss out the opportunity of future skydives just because some other jumpers are giving U a hard time? Believe me, this will not just only happen in Skydiving! U should not give up so fast. I've been to a couple of Dz's with a shitty rig, only around 100 jumps and if there is one thing I learnt, it was to listen what the others say, follow the rules of the Dz, be safe, smile and have A GOOD TIME! even the biggest dick on the DZ did not manage to ruin my skydive because I just love to do it so much. Stay cool, relax and do some nice skydives! even if U do not find someone to jump with at the beginning, there is a lot U can do when U're jumping by Ur own and don't worry, U will find Ur bros! Now get on that plane and jump the shit out of Ur rig
  17. QuoteQuotecome up to the ranch and ask around for skyjunky... I will talk to you in person about the progression and maybe even do some fun full altitude hop and pops with ya.... it seems as if there are still nice dz's which are really fun to jump at, where there are some good dudes who share their experience with each other
  18. I would like to attend cause I just moved to Vietnam, but have the same problem with the rig. It was too heavy to take along with me. Think I'll just write them an e-mail and ask about rental gear. Greetz
  19. Oh by the way, the first question of the questionnaire should be changed to: For how long have U been skydiving? What a start....but honestly guys, do U know a german that speeks good english?
  20. hey boys & girls! I'm just writing my thesis at uni and somehow I managed to convince my wuffo professor to link it with skydiving. thought I could write it on the dz, but this plan vanished somehow. as this whole stuff includes a reasearch I have to ask charming, burping, farting, smelling, drinkin, sexy, hairy etc. skydivers in form of a questionnaire the topic of my thesis is: how firms sponsor "Extreme Sports Events" in order to push all kind of products/services over subculture communities to the mass market. I am analyzing (well, at least I'm tryin') the practices and methods of corporations that use the "cooooool & extraordinary" image of a subculture to market their products on a mainstream level. if U fill ouf the questionnaire U can be assured that it is only me and my professor at uni who will have a look at them.THERE ARE NO THIRD PARTIES INVOLVED! However, it would be nice if U could write some sentences to the questions and give reasons for Ur answers. I am depending on your point of view, train of thoughts and attitudes as a simple yes,no are not enough for my evaluation:/ then please send the word document back to my e-mail ([email protected]). If U have any questions go ahead, write me and if I ever see U at a dz....of course U will get a beer! I know it takes a little of Ur time (10-15minutes) but at least the topic is quite interesting! And I would really like to prove my supervisor that he is WRONG WRONG WRONG by refering to skydivers simply as adrenaline junkies with no brain! anyway- greetings from Germany and if anyone fills out the stuff- thanks maaaaan/darlin'!
  21. hmmm, I've heard something similar like that. my mate told me, that the army sometimes offers civilists to to some static line jumps. well, this whole dz search will be a real challenge
  22. yeah, I've read about them before. think that's my only chance so far. thanx for the comments guys, a virtual german beer for each one of U- *BEER* mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmh!
  23. Hey boys & girls, I 'm probably movin to vietnam for a year (interesting, I know). friend of mine has been there before and tried to find a dz-unfortunately he didn't have any luck (met a paraglider though). But maybe one of U guys?????? Did anyone manage to jump over there? Any comments are appreciated, Blues from Germany!
