  1. Last one I had: Last person on the load jumped after everyone and realized I'm not wearing my gear. During freefall I met a friend whom I did some tunnel with in Perris. I told him " dude, I forgot my gear" he said " I have another one in my trunk" and suddenly he had it in his hands and passed it on to me. So I was totally in a hurry tried to put it on, but just managed to get my legs into it. I thought that will never work if I pull now. Took it off again and put my arms through the leg strips. During that there were about 80 other divers opening on every side including my friend. It was an ocean of parachutes in the sky. I was passing them in slow motion. I thought it's to late and I have to shoot out the reserve right away and did. I felt the opening and the ground still came really fast towards me. Before impact I woke up. And thought to my self, dude never jump without chute again! Weird..
  2. All those comments made me really confused... I have to say that I'm having a normal job now and I'm not making more than 2500$ in a month. That's equal to an income of 30000$ a year. I don't own a house or something, but I safe a lil and going on holiday once a year and skydive a lil. Not that much now, because I'm not in the U.S. Actually, I have to say if it's possible to make 35K in a year, I'd be happy doing skydiving as a carrier. For a while at least. Maybe not for ever, but show me the job you want to do for ever? If it's not skydiving what is it then?
  3. A woman which smells like pot and Jet fuel in the morning...... awesome. That makes me wanna go head down!
  4. Thats what they want, total control. If we all only use credit cards and no cash anymore it's going to be really easy to follow peoples needs and buying habits. People can track down exactly your movements and what so ever. And there wont be a black market anymore for anything. Which might be good. Maybe. Well, I can't agree on that one. And you have to bring your money to the bank. Actually you can't even decide anymore if you want it at home under your pillow or at the bank. It will be like the www is already, to customize commercials and so on. I think that would be gay. Nothing against Gay peeps. Cash also looks somehow better and more than plastic. cheers
  5. That's awesome! You never chopped till now? My goal is at least 1000 jumps with out. Maybe it'll work. Your post has giving me faith.
  6. Wow, you guys really jump with goggles? That's so lame, I always jump with out. I love beeing blind during free fall. I forgot to not wear them once.
  7. I've never chopped till now. I wanna do 1000 jumps with out chopping.
  8. attitude. I am serious. PERIOD! Good that you are such a serious person. I guess it's a lot of fun to hang around with you. No worries! I wont use this term on a passenger! My attitude is fine, just tried to pass on what a lot of people think about Tandems. Tried to be funny, I guess it didn't work. Anyway, thanks to all of you that was very helpful so far.
  9. DAEC Member in Germany = nothing, accept becoming a member after getting license. Insurance 107 Euro a year.
  10. Yeah, pack it by your self. After a while you'll be surprised that sometimes the worst pack job has the best opening! And how many more jumps you can do for the money you are saving! Try the trash pack. Very quick. Well, I'm actally not recommending it, but there is one guy he has 2000 jumps and had only one cutaway while doing trashpack.
  11. First of all = Thank you. Yes, I know it's a big responsibility as soon as you have some cargo hanging in front of you. I met people which are still worse than me after 1000 jumps and they are Tandem Master and doing a safe job. Don't get me wrong, but I think if some of them are able to do it.... I'm not looking at it like it's a holiday I want to become professional and a reliable Tandem master. Do you have someone in mind I could contact? cheers
  12. Hi everyone! I have some lame questions. In Germany it's called Tandem Master when you are taking Tandem students for a jump. Is that the same title in the States? Do I get that right, that a Master is taking students for a jump and an instructor is able to do the tandem ratings or thats the examinor? Well, you can see I'm a lil distracted here. Anyway, I would like to become a tandem pilot this year and do all the ratings which are necessary. I read already what the requirements are. Can someone recommend a good dropzone? I still have to do about 50 jumps so I would like to that in one step. Do the 50 jumps in 10 days and then start the rating. I want to do it in the States. Somewhere in CA would be preferred, but any other place would do it too. Thanks in advanced!
