  10. I have now heard on 2 different stations in the Boston area that PEOPLE have been quaranteened to Boston General Hospital. The only other article that I can find on the web is the pig in N. Carolina that tested negative. As far as I know, people can carry it, but it wont affect them that badly. People can transmit the disease to animals, right???

  17. The only thing I heard is that announcement on the radio. I havent seen anything on the web or other news sites...I am keeping my fingers crossed. I did find an article on how lax the Boston airport is on people coming back to the states from Europe on this disease. If anyone hears anything please let me know...

  18. but then again...a dead jumper doesnt buy slots, so I dont know if they would rush a student through AFF to get them jumping. I think that it would be in their best interests to keep them safe.

  19. I completed my AFF (10 jump course) in 3 days. I pitched a tent at the DZ last 4th of July week and jumped every opportunity I could get. Its a great way to immerse yourself in skydiving. You learn just as much on the ground as you do in the sky. I would recommend that if you are going to take the course, thats how you do it.

  20. I dont think so. Our DZ has a package deal where you get 15 jumps to complete our 10 Level AFF course. So you get to fail a few and not have to pay for that level again. The whole package is much better than buying one level at a time. I havent run into too many people that had to redo levels over and over again. I think that they are honestly looking for you to be safe. Once you are off AFF, you are pretty on your own and there is still a lot to learn. So if you dont have the basics its going to be tough to learn some more advanced stuff safely.

  22. I heard on the radio this morning that they think that Foot and Mouth has made it to New England and that they have quaranteened some people. I know that oversees, DZs were shut down because they were afraid of off-field landings into farms and further spreading the disease. Anybody heard about this or for you guys overseas...what happened with DZ closings and are you jumping yet???

  23. I see someone gets it!!! Its kinda funny to flash that on occasion...some people get it and some dont. You know who the freaks are right off the bat and you also get to bring some new freaks into the group!

  24. Check out Molly on page 41 of this months parachutist. (she is the blond on the left in the top photo). See what she is doing with her hand and use your imagination...the thumb moves too...
