Alright, it's coming to the point where I really need to get things figured out so I can purchase airfare at a reasonable price.

Short and sweet here are the facts.. I'm from the midwest and am looking to go somewhere for about a week in mid-early January. I'm open to anywhere such as eloy, perris, anywhere in texas or florida. Basically the only requirement is that they have cheap bunks for me to stay in (if worst comes to worst I can tent)

I really don't want to pay $200+ to rent a car so I would need someone to pick me up from the airport and then drive me back.

If anyone is available, houston, dallas, zhills, sebastian, eloy, etc. Let me know.. I know some are father from airports than others that's why I'm open..

    Thanks guys

eloy has 8 dollar a night bunks in the bunkhouse and there are quite a few people who do shuttles. PM if you want more info about the shuttles.

I don't see any reason to lock this thread. It may motivate people to put together a team, either Freefly or VFS and compete at Nationals. I for one would love to see more teams at Nationals.

lots of us who are on teams cant afford to travel.

Wow. Just wow. That's sad for those who already paid for their flights.

Guess it looks like it's World Team 2012 for me.

Obviously, I could try to make the WT 2011 which is probably reduced to a 250-way, but I hate to steal anybody else's slot, but some will sadly give up their pursuit.

not stealing a slot if you earn it!

I live in CT, and I'm not as crazy as some of these other guys that skydive here :P (ahem, pilotdave and company :D) So, I need recommendations on where I can get away for a week to two weeks and do nothing but jump. I was at Elsinore for 11 days last January, and my only..i repeat...only gripe was the wind that grounded everyone for 3 (or maybe even 4!) days out of the 11 days I was there. I want to visit another DZ in the US (or even abroad, if tickets are cheap enough) which has the following requirements:

    a. almost 100% predictable no-rain no-snow little-cloud warmish weather (am I asking for too much here? :P)
    b. bunkhouses on the ground where I can stay for cheap a week or so
    OR
    c. Any fellow skydiver who's willing to loan me a couch for a week. I'm willing to repay in cooked meals, beers, good company and massages. The latter applies ONLY if you're a cute female skydiver :P

The type of plane doesn't really matter, as long as I get to jump. I don't want to fly somewhere and sit on the ground for most of the day waiting for my turn.

    What are my options? B|

A stall surge seems much more forgiving to me, and is thus my preferred method of building speed. I'll sometimes do a carving turn to final, but watching guys hook tandems so low that they've removed their margin for error scares me.

    Dave

I really don't like the stall surge. Makes the canopy unstable in turbulence and dust devils like we have here in AZ. and there is that little bit in the beginning where there is no flare at all so if you do it to low your fucked.

I researched the URL's and have put together this post in the CSPA forums:

To moderator: You may wish to rename this topic, as this topic has probably suddenly become the "Skyventure Vancouver News" thread. ;)

  7. Take it from someone who was in your place 2-3 years ago arguing the same bullshit and coming up with excuses. Just shut up and listen to these people. Look back at my posts from years ago and you will see me doing the same and i was 100% wrong and only realized that a year ago. There not trying to stop you from learning, there trying to help you learn more.
