  2. Well said Martin & I echo your sentiment! I currently require USPA individual membership as we are at a municipal airport, but I will immediately work with our City to explore other options if the BOD removes Jan. I will follow your lead & remove my DZ as a group member also. We don't need to get rid of her; we need more board members like her, with her knowledge & vision, willingness to listen and take a stand, regardless of whether or not you agree with her take on a given issue! Losing her would be a HUGE loss to the organization and the sport. (side note: Just so you understand how vehement I am about this issue, this is only my second post ever on this forum.) :Jen Sharp, DZO Skydive Kansas
  3. DZO Martin Myrtle is a great skydiver with a knack for business, and the atmosphere he propagates reminds me of jumping "how it used to be" but with all the advances of good technology & safety. This DZ has -good professionalism, very helpful -family friendly -a well maintained, high performing Cessna 182 -plenty of packing in the hangar, lots of landing area -good location, very close to amenities (Wichita) ACDZ is our "sister" DZ of sorts (I'm the little sister, Martin's the big brother). In an industry usually replete with cliques and competition, ACDZ continues to show how cooperation, education & information add immensely to everyone's enjoyment and safety. In September 2005, ACDZ hosted the first Annual All Kansas Cessna Boogie, bringing in all the dropzones in Kansas in cooperation for fun and sharing. Jen Sharp, Skydive Kansas DZO
  4. I'm the DZO/rigger, the first owner of this canopy, the one who STUPIDLY sold it on ebay. I feel badly about this being out there in possibly unknowing hands, but when I sold this, I spelled out EXACTLY what problems it had. I was thinking someone (with more motivation than me) could do something with it and maybe make it work again. I've accumulated the details on this if anyone is interested: www.skydivekansas.com/107.htm I know as it was when I sold it, this canopy had severe problems. Mains are not TSO'ed in the US and I've never heard of any requirements about labelling mains unairworthy. That would have been a good idea to somehow mark it, I wish I would have thought of that, but I thought I was doing the best I could at the time to make sure the buyer knew the problems. I could kick myself for not imagining the scenario that someone could with clear conscience resell this thing to another unsuspecting skydiver. So now Paul (a good friend) and I are on an EDUCATION campaign, I guess, since that's all we can do. I applaud Sangrio from Dropzone.com for his quick action taking the ad down and his committment to ascertaining the integrity of the classifieds. I wish I would have just cut the lines off of it and hung it up for decoration! :Jen
