  1. Not necessary if you go buy the Digisnap 2200, it connects to hand remotes and the normal conceptus tongue and bite switches... http://www.harbortronics.com/detail.php?id=19
  2. Not true... look here :http://www.harbortronics.com/ - they add remotecontrol features to Nikon Coolpix cameras
  3. dont know but have you looked here? They add remote control features to digi cameras.... http://www.harbortronics.com/
  4. The Firebird is the newest design from BirdMan. It can be flown by first timers, but you should be able to fly with the big suits when you get the pilot skills . Check the article on news on www.bird-man.com
  5. I fly my xfire2 119 at wl 1.8. I have found that its optimal for swooping. I have flown the 109 and the 129 so I could compare. Wl 1.8 seems to be optimal.
  6. I use a coolpix 5000 so you can compare it easily to yours; anyway I do the following: I go manual with the shutter, auto on the rest. I choose between two settings: 1/500 and 1/250 sek. I use the fast one when I want to take pictures up close. Otherwise I use the slower one because of better quality. Though the lens is on auto, I always override it with +0.7 so that images will be a bit brighter
  7. wow, I didn't notice the JATO rockets that must be attached to Katanas. I did however wonder why it was so heavy in the bag - stupid me; I just thought that it was a plain vanilla 9-cell elipse. I must look closer next time I jump one
  8. -------------------------------------------------- I disagree. Having jumped both I can safely say that the Katana, flown right will outswoop the XF2 IMO. ------------------------------------------------------ well.... That is not exactly my experience, dude , I think they are very much the same w. respect to swooping. Other than that the Crossfire openings are much more delicate and controlled due to the nose design that openings, i think you agree, if not try again. But whatever fits you (and me)... Sorry about this detour guys, I stil agree that the Sabre2 really can swooop
  9. tried the Katana, havent really understood what all the fuss is about. The Sabre2 is a really good chute that you can really swoop if you loaded it right. Anyway imho the Katana is not up there w. the Crossfire anyway, so why dont you stay w. the Sabre2 and learn to max it out alternatively go for the Crossfire
  10. If you can get your hands on a Nikon Coolpix 5000 (its now replaced by the 5400), you can add a Digisnap 5000 adapter (http://www.harbortronics.com/digisnap5000.asp), and they have switches to go... Im using this combo and its fine.
  11. The Diablo is a one-of-a-kind canopy! It does more or less what you describe and require: its fast & funny, (but can be quite a handful at deployment - take care dude). It has a decent swoop if you know how to! Well, to go beyond that, you should stick to 7-cells and I would suggest the Icarus Omni as the only way to go Happy hunting
  12. Zell am See in Austria, see www.pink.at
  13. Well the combo works somewhat and the Nikon cam itself takes superb pics Here is one nice pic though - it is not centered but thats kind of cool here : http://frihavnen.st/fdk-photo-gallery/2003/zellamzee/frits/orig/DSCN0087.JPG Hmm, I guess I'll just have to continue with the Canon remote wire for now...
  14. Well I do have some problems... I have the remote switch Canon E3 (w. wire), its a stereo plug and it just works perfectly... I hate the wire so naturally: I the got the bite Conceptus switch it has a mono plug. This thing works initially, but the camera stops taking pics during freefall. I can reproduce this on ground ;-) Finally I got the Conceptus tongue switch w. a stereo plug. It goes beserk when I plug it in and continues to take pics w/o me triggering it. Tried auto, manual w. continusly setting and so but havent succeeded getting the switches to work decently yet...
  15. Anyone having experiences using it in combination w. the Nikon Coolpix 5000?
