  1. What happened was that Eli Thompson, one of the main characters was killed making this movie.
  2. Perris Valley Skydiving is having their anual 100 way jumps from May 11th to the 14th. The 2 Way Camp on the 14th is cancelled because I am registered to be part of those jumps. My apologies to anyone who was making plans to come out on that date. The next camp will be the following week on May 20th. I replied to your PM. Did you read it? " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"
  3. Hey Scotts! You don't need to register at all. We just like to know who is coming so that so that we can have enough coaches on hand. We meet at the creeper pad at 8:00 am. I look forward to meeting you and jumping with you! " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"
  4. Hi Everyone! The dates for 2 Way Camp for April and May are: April 1st, 9th, 16, and 22nd May 7th, 14th, 20th Please be sure and check the Perris Valley Skydiving web site for any changes to the camp schedule or for tunnel days with free coaching. For those of you that are reading about this (the 2 way camp) for the first time, the camp is free to attend, but we ask that you make 5 jumps, in order to help you develop a skill set (or sets) for that day. We also have a number of world class skydivers on the dropzone, like Dan BC, Team Fury and Pat McGowan, who donate their time to help with the camp by making jumps with you. So..as a skydiver ...Do you want to be better? Or do you want to be good? Each day that you come to the camp, I guarantee you, that you'll know more and be a better skydiver than you were when you arrived. Even if you can't jump, you're going to learn something! See you there! Mj " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"
  5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That cracked me up!!! " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"
  6. You have received some excellent advice in here Evelyn. The only thing that I might add (forgive me if I missed this in the previous reponses) is to ask Hammo about "Pass the Rock". He explains it really well and it sounds like something you should do.. if you haven't found out abou it already. For some teams that takes place once a month and clears the air. Good luck! " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"
  7. Hi Everyone! The dates for 2 Way Camp for both February and March fall on exactly the same dates and day of the week! Feb 4th, 12th, 18th and 26th. March: 4th, 12th, 18th and 26th. For those of you that are reading about this (the 2 way camp) for the first time, the camp is free to attend, but we ask that you make 5 jumps, in order to help you develop a skill set (or sets) for that day. We also have a number of world class skydivers on the dropzone who donate their time to help with the camp. This last weekend we had Pat McGowan making one on one jumps with us all day. Other times we have had none other than Dan BC doing the same thing! We also have the wind tunnel on the dropzone at Perris and once a month we put together groups of 6 and set up 10 minute wind tunnel sessions for each person with free coaching. So..as a skydiver ...Do you want to be better? Or do you want to be good? Each day you go to the camp you'll know more and be a better skydiver than you were when you arrived. Even if you can't jump, you're going to learn something! And those that keep coming? Well you're going to become good! See you there! Mj " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"

  20. Hi Park, the camp starts at 8:00 am and we meet over at the picnic tables by the creeper pad. " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"
  21. CATO!!!!! I am definitely looking forward to the second round!!! And this time I'll make sure we have plenty of the good teq on hand! Hammo said that the three of you are arriving on the 28th(?). "All skydives are fun, but good skydives are definitely more fun!" And you will definitely be having some of those when you get here! '
  22. Hi Park, Weekdays are hard to do, because I own a business and have employees to watch over, BUT if you can get 5 or more people to come out on a weekday and give me some advance notice, I will make arrangments to coach you. Extra info on the Skills Camp: The camp usually runs every weekend, alternating between Saturdays one weekend and Sundays the next. We set it up like this, so that those who can't make for example, Saturdays, can make every other Sunday and vice versa (people who can't make Sundays....). What is good about the weekend, is that I have jumpers in the two way camp who have advanced or people who have moved onto 4 way, help out, by making jumps with the new low timers to help get them started. I have two rigs and I try to jump with all of the new people in the camp on their first day, but I can't get to everyone at once, so they come in and burn their own tickets to help, because someone else who was "advanced" (from the camp) or an "experienced" jumper did that with them. VanillaSkyGirl for example will soon be one of my experienced jumpers that will be helping newbies out by making some jumps with them. I know that some people work on the weekend and it's really hard for them to get away. But if you can find a way to get a day on the weekend when the camp is running, I promise you that you won't be disappointed. Not only will you be better by the end of the day than were before you arrived at the camp, but you will leave with skill set goals to work on and know how to work on them. Here is a pic of the person who came out here with Rocket. I believe that this is his third jump of the day. Both he and Rocket (and correct me if I'm wrong) were nailing their exits (parallel to the wing or perpendicular to the line of flight) and flying the "mantis" by their 3rd jumps. At the end of the day, they moved onto center point turns using their legs (no upper body movement). If you have any other questions, you can email me directly at the addy at the top of this forum. Blue ones! "Well? Do you want to be better or do you want to be good?"
  23. Hey Rocket ! It's all of the people like you bro, that keep me teaching the skills camp! Congratulations on your 100th.! I definitely look forward to working with you again! Hey RJ, I am waiting to see what my team mates want to schedule for training dates in November. Right now, the 8th is on the table, if it gets taken off, then I will add the date to the calander. You will have to forgive me Masher for not knowing what a "CSE" is. " Do you want to be Better.....or do you want to be Good?"

  25. Hi Skydiverxl! How are you? I had been hearing that people have been talking about the 2 Way Skills Camp at Elsinore that I teach; so I checked in to see what kind of buzz was going on and also saw your forum. I think that you are on the right path, by pursuing two way skydives! What 2 way allows the individual to do, is concentrate upon themselves and develop the foundations of good flying skills without having to worry about 3 or more other skydivers on the jump. Lets face it, when you and your friend show up to learn by doing 2 ways, you are there to do battle!. Jumping out of a plane and submitting yourself to the struggle of learning to fly your body is a battle, plain and simple. And you only have 60 seconds each time to do this in! For some, skills like nailing an exit or just falling straight down "the pipe", nose to nose with another person, without floating, going low or back sliding, are big battles; (not to mention being able to turn in place on your center point). Depending upon the individual and their frequency of jumping, it usually takes between 40 and 60 two way jumps before they are ready to move into 4 way. By that time, the basics such as, good body postion, using and moving center of mass, eye contact, how to take out all of the various exits, etc. along with more advanced flying skills have become reflexive and the individual's focus on the various moves to a 4 way formation point is simplified. I have some students who have moved onto 4 way from the 2 way camp and with only a total of 80 or so jumps in their skydiving career are sucessfully executing vertical block transitions. I teach with a specific progression plan that I put each jumper through. If you are interested, email me and tell me where your at in the development of your skills, what type of plane you are jumping out of, type of exits that you have done and the results of both your exits and the types skydives your have executed (or attempted to execute), what you would like to work on, I will be happy to try and help you move to your next step. I wish you good luck with your learning, good jumps and blue skies!
