  1. I would have to agree with everyone else on this partiular topic. Although I do not have very many jumps. I do know a bit about aerodynamics. If the wing is spread by loosening the chest strap and pulling the slider down then it should make the wing more efficent. If the wing is flying more efficently than that does mean all aspects of flight will be improved. Matt
  2. I believe that would be the "pull" signal along with a look of horror in their eyes. This one --->
  3. You sound pretty experienced for the number of jumps you have. I think it is hard to get advice like this from the net. Everyone is different. I think you should demo a lot, and see what works best for you. Fly a bunch of canopies and see how comfortable you are on the various types. Then make your decision. I didn't feel that an elliptical was that much harder to fly than my old 7 cell. Sure it was more responsive, you just have to think a little farther ahead on landing. But you might not come to the same conclusion. So jump, jump, jump and come up with your own. You know what you are ready for. Good decisions come with time. MATT
  4. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Congrats Michele. Your writing really made me feel what you were feeling. Make sure to tell us how level 4 goes for you! Blue skies, Matt
  5. It might have something to do with your inner ear. Your sense of balance comes from your inner ear. As anyone that has made a free fall before can tell you, the severe altitude change in a short period of time can cause your ears to pop. But if your ears are plugged it can throw your sense of balance off making you throw up. Have you been sick recently? IT could just be that you ears are some what plugged for that illness or an allergy and you do not know it. If it continues you might want to check with you doctor. hope this helps at all. MAthmatiC -Matt- p.s. I used to get extremely sick in small planes and while driving in the car when I was younger. Now I am a pilot and have not had motion sickness in a long time. IT is almost like I grew out of it. I think your body adapts to those kinds of things, but it just takes time.
  6. Thank you for you inputs. They are much appreciated. MathuS-
  7. "I do not like the psycho pack because of the extra wear on the canopy and lines." How exactly does psycho packing cause extra wear and tear on the canopy?

    genera

I jumped the Genera while on student status. I know my experience is limited, but I was very happy with it. Rigging innovations does a very good job with all of their products. Jim Wallace, my instructor, swears by all of Rigging Innovations products, and he is one of the most experienced jumpers in the world with 16,000+ jumps. However, one thing I would ask for would be the double wide leg pads they offer with their voodoo model. Compared to some of the pricer rigs out their the leg pads seem to be one of the most noticeable areas the Genera is lacking in. I am not even sure if they offer a choice of leg pads with the genera or not; however, one option is to just suck it up and be a man, or woman, whatever the situation calls for. hehehe MAthuS
  9. I am relatively new to the sport of skydiving. I recently purchased a new spectre 190. To be honest, handling that new PD zero-p is a pain in the ass. I am still having a little trouble trying to propack that canopy. It is easier for me to psycho pack. Which brings me to my question. Has anybody heard or know of any problems with psycho packing a Spectre 190? I asked the packer/rigger at my home dropzone and she said she didn't even know how to psycho pack. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MAthuS
