  1. I am going to filming tandems so I was going to jump the royal lens .5x or the liquid lens .45x for video. I need to know what size fixed focal lens for a canon xt would be compatible with the .5x or .45x. Hope this all makes sense I don't know much on the technical side of cameras.

    thanks, Joel

  2. first it will reduce the risk, correct myself there. second, type "hard housings skydiving" on google and click on the first article you come to this proves the cutaway force is less with the hard housings. Third, type "hard housings preventing hard pull skydiving" in google and click the red zone the second article in that search, and it will tell you in the 7th line of hard cutaway section that it will reduce the risk.

  3. simple, i have seen a hard pull and the guy almost died because he was jumping soft housing risers and could not cut away. This is one of those things that is an easy fix. They will not hurt you to jump with them, they only prevent a possible catastrophe. When you get line twists the cable can be twisted so hard that it is pinched together which creates a hard cutaway or no cutaway, the hard housings have been proven to prevent this. Why risk it is my question to all?

  4. rawa has a freefly open face that i hear is nice and the camera helmet without the camera box is super comfy and protects your head. it also has two internal audibles. I jump with two audibles always. If you see no reason, the sim does reccomend as well, for freeflying. If thats your cup of tea. hope it helps

  5. one of the things i think is important, and im drawing a blank right now too. When packing, all lines especially the brake lines and d lines should be right down the middle to prevent lineovers. A lot of people i've seen packing is careless and some don't even know. BOC maintenance is huge too. Hope this lil bit helps man sorry for not sharing more. Pulling the kill line instead of the hackey is good too. That is just useless wear on the pilot chute. good lick bro

  6. that was in refference to not being enough coaches. I would rather see some good ones rather than a lot of so so ones. Also if you read my first post it was that i posted this for those who wanted to voice their concerns with folks at uspa not to sit here and further substantiate my opinions.

  7. maybe 200-250 thereis no magic number as i said boosting the standards would only help shorten the gap of incompetent teachers and that goes along with the skill of flying and teaching. The jump numbers are just a basis. As i said in my last post quality over quantity this is the wrong sport to take the risk of iggnorance.

  8. I personally would not buy this setup. My first was a dolphin w triathlon 190 and tempo res and cypres for 1200 and i jumped it for bout 100 jumps then sold for 100 dollars cheaper. Sabre 1's suck don't buy it

  9. This is why i believe on qualtiy over quantity. You can always bring coaches out of the woodwork if you ask. If not maybe the dzo should put on a course for qualified skydivers or pay their gas or somehting if they have to go somewhere else. I don't think that would be unreasonable.

  10. I don't think that anyone is arguing this point. Yes, it is better to have someone wtih you that you know had to go through some sort of training to get his or her rating. But, I do think that they need to raise the standards on how many jumps they need to have, obviously some people see this as a problem and if the standards were raised this would HELP close that gap.

  11. if you read 100 jump wonder/ coach you would see that people did fell it was and issue as well as did the whole uspa they questioned a lot if they should have even created the coach. I pu this on here so that others who were concerned about it could contact the right people. I also don't believe that 100 isn't enough for evryone but on my few years in I have seen some idiots who were w students. There is a gap and it needs to be shortened.

  12. sounds like the dzo's and riggers ought to take initiative with everyone not just students and put on small gear class on a regular basis maybe two or three times a year. I do agree with the statement of overload. This must be an ongoing learning process because the sport is a never ending learning curve. Everybody and everything can always improve but you have to work at it.

  13. There has been a lot of talk of coach jump requirements. I amoung most of the general population on other threads feel that the jumps aren't enough and was told to quit bitching about it and do something. Sooooo here you go, I e mailed Gary Peek the central regional director. He said that uspa does know of the issue and has been spoke about to death in their S&T meetings. He said I could come address the issue at their next BOD (board of directors) meeting, but the ONLY THING THAT WOULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE IS IF MANY PEOPLE E MAILED OR CALLED THERE CONCERNS IN TO THE BOD OR THEIR REGIONAL DIRECTOR ABOUT THIS ISSUE. He also said that the uspa does not consider these forums as valid input from anyone so this is not a bithing thread, it is for those who do have concerns, and I have shown the way for them to be heard if they want it changed.

    Thanks all Joel

  14. I am a big vector lover they are proven to be the most functional rig on the market and they just keep getting better. I would go with the vector I know that you can find dealers i.e not the big ones on the net , but jumpers who are dealers. The reason why I say that is because we use to get outrageous amounts off of vector because our dealer did no mark up and hooked us up. I laugh at people who pay full price for rigs its a waste of money. Also have you ever considered a Voodoo this is another fine fine rig a close friend of mine jumps one they come totally loaded for 1700 and something I believe but dont quote me on that. The mirage is also awesome they just look pretty boxy looking to me but thats my opinion i guess.

    Hope it helps, Joel

  15. couldn't agree more. Pack your own, you will be able to pack just as fast or faster than them and also pack cleaner IF you work hard at packing I only have about 500 jumps but i know i have close to 1200 pack jobs because i would practice almost every night packing for speed and cleanlines of pack i can pack in about 6min without really hussleing. I just dont really trust many people, Just a few i wolud let pack
