  1. There's a lot more to look at. Wind speed, surface elevation, density altitude are some. I'm sure there are more. Be careful when you find your info. Many people are less than they say they are. t
  2. I toggle hook, and have for the last 2500 swoops. Reason? It works for me. I see a lot of front riser hooks by people who have not retrimed their brakes for this - causes buffeting in the dives - and have seen 6 hospital cases from people who have dropped the brake toggle when releasing the riser. I've also seen a bunch of people toggle hook it too low and get an orthopedic repair kit. Lets face it. When you're loaded to 2.0 to 1 plus and you cock up... its ugly. Telling people one method is safer than another is bull. Its all dangerous. And fun. t
  3. I'm new to the Safire... It's my girlfriend's - an occasional back to back rig. I normally jump a Heatwave 100 or a Jonathan 120. Her Safire is a 135, so I'm loading it around 1.4 I guess. Great rag, nice swoops, good glide, but it needs deep toggle input to shut it down. My 100 would be packed behind me if I had the toggles that deep. Great rag though. Is yours in trim? t
  4. No. This is the problem with a little intelligence. It goes a long way. Once you leave the ground, there is only airspeed. Most people cannot grasp this concept.
  5. I seem to be missing something... I pull my slider down, pull my googles round my neck (I wear no helmet) and roll the slider up in the goggles. I jump a 100 Heatwave loaded to 2.0 to 1 on a DZ 5500ft ASL..
