  1. So, what you're saying is that the jumpers at Pahokee won't get to jump and the plane won't fly because you and another party want to operate this dz? I am not sure if this is how it is meant to come off. So, basically, Ron isn't allowed to fly there, and they would let someone fly, but since there are 2 parties fighting no one gets to fly? Like two kids fighting over a toy, you just take it away? I don't know but something isn't right here. I tend to agree that this stuff should be kept off the forums until more details are found (or are allowed to be posted). Good luck to Ron!
  2. Any further details? Are the dzs actually closed as of now pending further action? Anyone know who is trying to take over the dz? Best of luck to Ron! Cheers, Cathy, for trying to help out!!
  3. If you get rid of the pud, i'll take it
  4. Isn't that why you started? I know that I started this for the adrenaline rush. I am still loving it. It just takes pushing it a bit more to get it now. If this didn't give me a rush/excitement, I don't think i'd spend so much $$ and time on it. Maybe it's just me?.
  5. Sorry, no, I do quarter it. But, I try to leave as much exposed as possible if that makes sense. Thanks for the link.
  6. Modify this with 1000$ for cypres, and 175 for 4yr service... and voila, you have the value of your used cypres.
  7. Been pulling the slider out, but will definitely pay attention to that. The lines have less than 100 jumps on them, so they should be good to go. Canopy flies great! Thx.
  8. 100+ jumps on a Stiletto before this canopy. never had problems on openings. Loading at ~1.1 : 1. I think due to the fact that the end cells are not inflating, it is jerky on opening. Maybe I should immediately go to rears and try to get the end cells inflated? It is not opening extremely hard, but hard enough for me to come here and ask questions about it. It definitely doesn't open like my Stiletto did. It opens faster and it with deflated end cells causing it to dance/wander within about 45-90 degrees, but kinda jerky, until I get the end cells inflated (which doesn't happen on it's own, only after yanking rears). I read that lots of people are using pocketed sliders, i'm wondering if I should consider that, or maybe a new slider since this one has 700 jumps on it. How do you know when a slider is ready for replacement? Anyhow, i'm going to play around with different packing methods, and trying to go straight to rears before it starts to dance around from having the end cells deflated. But, in the meantime, I didn't know if maybe others with this canopy might have general tips. I'm basically looking to 1) get the end cells to inflate on opening, and 2) have it open more slowly/softly. Thanks.
  9. Got a Jedei and I love the way it flies, but i'm having some not-so-nice openings. The end cells don't seem to fully inflate until I yank the rears, i'm not sure if this is part of what causes the squirelly openings? I've got some soreness from my legstraps from the openings yesterday... but, I did 8 jumps on it, so it could definitely be worse. So, what can I do to make it open more softly/ less squirrely... more like a stiletto?? I am rolling the tail pretty good... should I roll the nose as well? Does it need a new slider? The slider on it seems to have been modified to add kill lines. The canopy has 700 jumps, might it need a new slider at this point? Could that be the cause of funky openings? I think i've heard of some people putting pockets in sliders to slow openings?? Thoughts? Anyonw with a Jedei care to comment? Thanks.

    Circumcision

I voted NO! I would not do this to my son. I find it to be unnecessarily cruel and a sick ritual. I am glad i'm not a man because I know that my mother would have circumcised me had I been. The majority of men i've been with have indeed been circumsized. But, I have been with three that have not. I find it more fun when it's not. And, none of the guys I speak of have had cleanliness issues with it... I think i'd know Also, I think that men who are uncircumsized do seem to be more sensitive (this, of course, it just my perception). So, my answer... don't do it. It is plain cruel. I agree with Kallend,... if you're going to do this, you might as well have every "unnecessary" body part removed.
  11. I assume they generally use weight vests, not the leadbelly things, right? I would think that the ones on your belly would be harder on your back. thx for the replies.
  12. I already do that. Thanks. Does anyone have experience on these canopies at low w/l? Opinions? Thanks.
  13. Interesting. At what point does this become uneffective? How about a 135sf canopy, looking to load it up a bit more than 1.1 (w/o weights), maybe add 15 lbs to get a 1.2 w/l. Will this relieve some riser pressure? Will it make the canopy dive longer, swoop farther? Or, is this a lost cause and need to get a 120 to get these characteristics? thx.
  14. Loading at 1.1 to 1.2 what are some canopies that will not have too heavy riser pressure? Please compare to Stiletto. How is the Heatwave's riser pressure? Jedei? Looking for something that can be found used. Also comment on recovery arc if you can. Thx.
  15. Using weights such as those sold for RW to load up a canopy... Safe? Unsafe? Is flying with weights to get a better w/l effectively equiv to a downsize? Also, will this affect your flying (freefly) negatively? thx.
