  1. My rig is safely in storage in the UK :) I'm looking to hire kit. Have you jumped in Thailand?
  2. Hi folks, I'm currently living in Taiwan (where there are no Dzs) and I was wondering if anyone had jumped in the Philippines or in Thailand? I'm planning a holiday and would like to combine it with jumping if I can. I'd appreciate info on type of DZ, location and whether they hire kit out. Thanks, Joolee
  3. Skydive Strathallan will be open on Sunday the 1st January 2006 and Monday the 2nd for anybody interested. Merry Christmas!
  4. Merry Christmas everyone. Have a great day and try to forget that today is Sunday - and usually a jumping day!
  5. What a coincidence! I didn't see you post when I wrote mine. There is a DZ mentioned in the dropzones section of this site and i have just tried to contact the owner to find out more about it. From the looks of it it is in Hurgada, which on the other side of the water to Sharm El Sheikh and you can get a boat across. I'm not sure how easy it is to get there though. If I get further info I'll post it up. Joolee
  6. Hi everyone, I'm going to Egypt on holiday this year and was wondering whether any of you had jumped at the dropzone in Hurgada. Wondering whether it is worth my while trying to get there from Sharm El Sheikh for a few jumps. Appreciate any comments. Joolee
  7. Their play on words I think...not mine!
  8. Hi there, I'm in the market for a new canopy and I'm wondering whether anyone can tell me their opinion on the Vision. As a bit of background, I currently jump a Sabre2 135 and weigh 140lbs. I have recently done 20 jumps on a Stiletto 135, liked it a lot but am keen to try the 120. Is the Vision a comparable canopy to the Stiletto. I have heard that it has a little something extra. Please tell me what you think.
  9. I never like to hear about people hurting themselves through jumping. Is your ankle o.k? I am now over the fact that I didn't jump at the weekend...on a mission now to make it to the DZ on Friday! Joolee
  10. hi sorry it took a while!!!!! I'm a freeflyer. Hope you got some good jumps in!
  11. Hi there everyone. It's a lovely Sunday morning (in Scotland) and I am stuck at the computer writing a 5000 word assignment. Excluding last weekend, the weather at my DZ had been bad for the previous 5 weekends!!! Does anyone have anything to show or tell me to cheer me up (nothing rude please)???? Thanks, Joolee

    Body surfing

Hi there, does anyone have any advice on how to launch a 2-way (out of a cessna 206!) so one person is on their back and the other is able to stand up on them like a surf board? I have tried this with my mate, by rolling out together facing each other. With him holding my feet i was able to stand up but not the way I intended. The problem is there is so little space in the door!!! Got any other funky 2-way ff things i can try...always like a challenge and the opportunity to get some good video!
  13. I agree with Gus. We need to take care of ourselves so if you are unsure about your capabilities or those of others, don't go on the jump. I was invited on a 5-way ff jump with my mates once but was unsure about it so when the plane was running in i let them all bundle out, waved, and jumped out 5 seconds later...hee hee You can always run any potentially worrying jump past the CCI (as you should anyway with any group ff jump) Joolee ------------------------ p.s Hi Gus, don't know if you remember chatting about Empuriabrava a few years back now. Been on any exciting holidays since then?
  14. Strathallan is a relatively small dropzone but has good facilities. I trained there five years ago and consider it my second home (I spend more than 3 & 1/2 months a year there!). Always busy, in summer there are a variety of people to jump with in all disciplines. BBQs, bonfires and parties are regular events at Strathallan. If you're in Scotland with your rig it's definitely worth a visit!
