  1. Yeah get yourself to Perris and get coaching, if your trying it alone how you suppose to know whats going well, what works, what doesnt?

Get some freefly coaching, save yourself some time and money...!! Have fun!

  2. Yeah demo's are the way to go....

A few possibles at a light wing loading could be...

    PD Spectre
    PD Sabre 2
    PD Silhoette

(Cant comment on others as only have experience with these.)

There are lots out there! Have fun choosing.....

  3. Hi Ross, how you doing?

Packing techniques are very difficult to describe let alone teach on an internet forum.

But basically if the slider isnt all the way up against the stops when you open, it doesnt work as it should.

And as its main job is to slow the opening, you get the opposite, bang.

It may have been this, it may have not, who knows. Like a few have said already, it could be a number of things, or none.

Bad openings just happen sometimes mate

Best bet is to get yourself to a dz and find someone to teach you to pack, some dz's even have packing courses you can attend. They should go over all the tips on how to try and prevent this in the future. But if you jump for long enough youll get hard openings from time to time.

    Get well soon mate.

    Mmmmm,

    Flying clean. Whats that?

Jumped with both the Free Jive gezzers and the Euphoria Guys a while back and I would say theres a pretty big difference in ability! I would allways put money on the freejivers to come out on top. Its a shame that those guys never got any support whilst they were compeating, They had potential to go all the way!

I see that a team called the freeflyers who dont jump so good were pretty close to outcast. Who are those guys?

Not this year in my opinion.

With all due respect to Freejive, which I have alot, the Outbreak guys smashed last years scores and broke the record for the highest score at the nationals ever.

Chris, Rob and Tim are an amazing team, this year the standard went through the roof and they would have to trained hard to stay with Outbreak, which I beleive they didnt get chance to do for whatever reasons.

Im guessing you havent seen any of Outbreaks routine right? Some pretty awesome stuff.

    Outcast?

Is that a typo on your behalf?

I read that on another forum today.

    Coincidence I guess?

  5. Hi there,

Yeah i definately agree with the posts so far.

You may pick a coach who has a million skydives and maybe the best flyer in the world,

...but if they cant relay their knowledge in a way which is best for your particular type of learning, then this isnt the best coach for you.

There are more and more coaches now who have an understanding of "coaching", and have real world qualifications like Degrees in sports pychology and mental coaching etc, pair this with being a very experienced freeflyer......

In saying that, its all very personal, the coaching you find most productive may not be as well recieved by someone else....

but a good coach learns to adapt depending on you and your needs.....

    Hope this helps..

One of the camera guys I work with loves to slag this canopy off saying stuff like "its for girls" or "its for people who cant pack"

You will often find jumpers who dont understand a peice of equipment for whatever reason simply choose to slag it off.

Your canopy is fine, dont let this guy make you worry about it he probably hasnt even jumped one.

I would think there quote refers to the original PD 9 Cell's, I would describe the silhouette at a light wingload as an excellent canopy for someone of your jump numbers.

    Enjoy it
