Thanks for those quick replies guys - the thread which discussed the Err 99 issue was interesting. 8 mins on the auto shutdown sounds good - I will try it next weekend. Still a bit concerned about vibration - mine is front mounted on an L bracket so I might need to review my set up. Use your wings Johnny....

I got my new 300D all rigged up (thanks Moose) and flew it at the weekend but got no results - the camera was showing an Err99 code and no images were recorded despite having proved the bite switch on the ground (albeit with the camera not mounted on the bracket). I guess I need to reset to auto shut down timer - what time do you other Rebel users use? I really dont want to be groping around for the on/off switch once my helmet is on my head. For UK readers - I was in the newsagents this morning and saw Which (What?) Camcorder magazine among the other top shelf material and it included a review on the Sony PC330. I didnt have time to browse the article and didnt want to buy the mag but was just wondering if anyone has read it and how it rated the camera (obviously not skydiving specifically). I have not had problems with MM2 crashing although I have had other problems - edited vid dropping frames when firewired back to my PC9. Is your computer high enough spec - MM2 doesnt crash on my 2.4 GHz 512Mb RAM laptop. Good luck. Use your wings Johnny....

I have lost DV out on my PC9 I have tried different firewires and different laptops so I guess the problem is at the camera end. Anyone had any similar experience. If I have to send the camera back to Sony it could take a while to fix .........
