  1. Details of UK DZs: http://www.bpa.org.uk/dropzone/dzone.htm Come to South Cerney and jump our TurboLet!!
  2. There is a LET410 based at South Cerney (UK) this summer. Cheap jumps and a very friendly DZ. Come jump it!!
  3. make sure the Chief Instructor knows you havnt jumped there b4. Get a brief on the DZ, preferably with an aerial photo. Dont be too arrogant to think that you are above asking questions to clarify situatuations, especially with DZ specific rules. I would higly reccomend a H&P on your first lob to ensure you dont get bum spotted. Pull ASAP take in the view and learn some visual refrences.
  4. quote "The only bad thing is that it has some pink on the container. Not that its such a bad thing I guess, but being a guy I'm not too partial to pink. But I guess beggers can't be choosers, right?" as long as it opens who cares what colour it is!!!!
  5. welcome!!! All i will say is look at the incidents forum, learn and dont become so arrogant that you think you know it all!!
  6. quote "better safe than sorry." to be honest the amount of money you spend on buying the equipment and making it "FF friendly" (which by the way is a concept not a product) you might as well well buy a 'modern' container. Is the sake of a couple of hundred quid worth a prem at 200mph????????
  7. I have a EXE170 and have put over 200 jumps on it in the last 6 months or so. In my opinion its an excellent begginner/intermediate canopy and i can highly reccommend it. All of my openings have been nice and gentle bar one (which was my fault). Backing up SpinDoctor's post it can be used conservatively, and responds well when using it more agressively. It wasnt long after graduating from AFF that i started using this canopy and i learnt a huge amount about canopy control from it, thankfully it is very forgiving as some of those lessons were learnt the hard way. The only criticisms i have of this canopy is that the glide angle is very steep and there have been loads of occasions when i have not made it back from deep spots when others have (and yes i know how to use my rear risers!!). Also, the ZP material that chute shop uses to make these canopies seems to be of a poorer quality that that of other manufacturers. I bought my canopy new and after about 250 jumps the wear really shows compared to other canopies with the same amount of jumps. If you are going to the BCPA freshers meet then you are more than welcome to come and pick my brains some more and have a few jumps on it (for a few beers ) I have a bright orange one with black stabilisers (the canopy that is).
