Ron, you have a preternatural ability to miss the point entirely. So, I have a question for you and, should he be so interested to chime in, Markharju. When SHTF or the assault on Communist Academia or whatever our version will be called begins, who will the US Army and National Guard be shooting at? Are you simply assuming it will be me, BillVon and that pesky Ken?

I posed that question awhile back to my Delta Force/CIA buddy, now deceased, and his response was, they will shoot at who they are told to shoot at.

That will of course depend on who is the CIC.

I tend to think they will shoot at whoever is posing a violent threat.

Clearly they pissed their god off. Somebody must be gay. Or doing cocaine with gay prostitutes.

It's really hard to keep up with these types of people. But god is always punishing them for their bad behavior.

Either that or he needs a new jet.

American christian religion is impossible to make sense of.

That is the thing about Christians. After one becomes a Christian they are still human beings, and there are a lot of different kinds.

It would be you that actually clicked the link. Ron, Ron, Ron, you are by far the most transparent (insert disallowed word here) who posts on SC.

Transparency is an honor to a Christian disciple.

    2 Timothy 2:

14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to [d]strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and [e]idle babblings, for they will [f]increase to more ungodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of [g]Christ depart from iniquity.”

They just weren't right in front of you. The Bonus Army (before the Depression), plenty of places in the Depression, some hippie-type takeovers.

One of the telling things about the traditionalist 1950's that you seem to have liked is that there was much higher taxation, allowing the government to invest in those infrastructure programs like roads and buildings, that keep people employed.

Poor and dispossessed people have always had to gather where they could; the colonias in south Texas, the favelas in Brazil, tent cities during nearly any housing or economic stress (including in the late 1980's and very early 1990's), homeless encampments all over the place (note that until recent efforts to focus on veterans, they were disproportionately represented among the homeless). But as long as there's no publicity, it doesn't exist, I guess.

Ron, we use people up and discard them. That's not acceptable in a society that claims to value individuals, because they are all individuals. Many of the homeless would have been awesome cowboys 100-150 years ago, but there aren't enough cowboy jobs any more, our massively profit-driven economy has taken care of that, and made that type of person superfluous. We can drug the ADD and ADHD out of them, but that's a cover, not a cure.

Don't fucking blame it on Obama. It started before him, he wasn't any more able to fix it than any other president, and it's not going away. But at least we are listening to the voices of some of the previously discarded people now. Sucks for you they're not conservative religious white males.

What sucks is that the savages are burning their own communities. What kind of mind set generates that behavior?

Your church has such an amazing security team made up of the best of the best. Not to mention your God is all powerful. Why was he unable to come there?

Governor Kemp has not completely opened the state, that is the churches. We are practicing social distance by holding two services. Add to that, Atlanta is burning and Bishop Zigler may have had other priorities.

  6. The following is a copy of a newspaper article from a Vietnam vet, former LEO, and Patriot Guard Rider, Terry Longpre. I think he states his opinion very well. I offer it for your consideration.

    Equals

As America goes from a pandemic (COVID 19) immediately into rioting, looting and destruction of property I find it hard to imagine what people are thinking and feeling.

I know if I were to speak with some of the protesters/rioters I would be told it was because of the disrespect of the black race. I grew up here in Manatee County and I served 27 years in law enforcement, a majority of which was spent in the areas where a majority of the residents were black.

I am not a Pastor, Priest or Clergyman, I am an American and what I write is my personal opinion. We, as God’s children are created equal at birth. What happens from that point in time to the present is our responsibility. Do we attend school and do the best we can to achieve good grades? Do we plan to go to college to better ourselves even though most colleges today are a haven for liberals? Do we get married, have children, and raise them as a family unit (Mother and Father) to be the best they can possibly be?

Or do we spend our money on frivolous entertainment and foolishness because we have been given government subsidies and become accustomed to receiving them for a generation or so, teaching the next generation they don’t have to work for what they have and want?

Do we stand on a street corner holding a sign saying ‘Please Help, can’t find work’ or do we utilize the time to look for a job? What we do and how we live is up to us as individuals, not society. Do not depend on others to help you, step up and make your own life, after all, it is yours. It is not mine nor is it your neighbors or the taxpayers, it is yours to do with what you want. If you want a good life, work for it, make it the best it can be. If you do not, quit complaining.

Your life should not be dominated by racial lines or feeling unequal. Step out of the circle and make a life changing decision and be absolutely the best person you can become.

With all of the disparaging remarks regarding law enforcement officers and how they approach life and the public, should you have the feeling of distrust towards them, make a difference and join their ranks. Learn what they do, how they do it and if you are not satisfied, help to make changes in the system legally from within.

There is talk of disbanding Police Departments and Sheriff’s Office’s in areas in the country. That in my opinion is the dumbest thing I have heard in awhile. What are you going to do when you need help, call a gangster? Think about what is being offered to you in today’s media and help to rebuild what Dr. Martin Luther King brought forth to our civilization. Remember, we are all created equal at birth, then it is up to you as an individual to make your life what it becomes.

Keep in mind, WE, are all God’s children and we should do the best we can to prove it. Should you have any questions, read the Bible.

    From factcheck.org:

"A tweet shared widely online during the protests sparked by the death of George Floyd — espousing a plan to bring violence to “residential areas… the white hoods” — was made to appear to be from antifa, the anti-fascist coalition. But the account behind the tweet was actually linked to a white nationalist group, according to Twitter."

So it's right wing extremists calling for violence, not Antifa.  I know that may cause you some cognitive dissonance.

I just spent some time this afternoon with a physician from NYC. She lives and works in Manhattan. She said the violence was perpetrated by outsiders not the protestors. What shall we call this group if Antifa is not proper?

And, BTW, the funding is from George Soros and Tom Steyer.

    George Floyd was a Christian.

From what I have found he did in fact profess to be a Christian. However, that was not the point of my post.

Of greater concern now is that Antifa has held two demonstrations, albeit puny, and they have approached one local PD with a defunding request. Word has it they are planning another demonstration tomorrow AM.

I met with some Vietnam vets and former LEOs yesterday and I don't think they realize what they may stepping into up here.

We understand all of this looting, burning, and violence is orchestrated and financed by the wealthy liberal supremacists. It is intended to crush our economy and defeat President Trump. The discussion at this juncture is to remember our oath when we entered service.

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

    THAT, is patently false.

There is NOTHING clearly defined in the bible.

It is ALL up for interpretation.

. . .Unless you can tell me which version is correct, or which translation is correct, and have everyone agree on it.

. . . Or are you saying that you are the one that knows?

I am unequivocally stating that I know the truth. I am not the only one.

Jesus Christ is the answer. Pick any translation you like.

So - is only your version of Christianity correct, or are there other ones that might be OK too?

There is only one Christianity and it is clearly defined in the Book of Acts.

Dude, you do understand that that letter is from a Papist right? They are not true Christians at all and will not be raptured.

Not necessarily, some Roman Catholics will be raptured. It depends on your acceptance, belief, and relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. For the most part Roman Catholicism is simply a very large, world wide, gathering place. We are judged individually not corporately.

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Up here, too.  A lot of rebels are in the streets fighting for their First Amendment rights.

Thanks for understanding the meaning and application of the word rebel as used in the vernacular. I hope some of the intellectual elite above catch the drift as well.
