  1. Hi Dusti, great to hear from you! I'd say "Let's do jumps" but I'm grounded for a couple months while I wait for my hand to heal after surgery to re-attach 2 tendons and a nerve. By then, my new rig will have arrived. Woo hoo! --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
  2. I got my muff # (515) somewhere around 1993 with the dubious honor of having Steve and Dennis as my inductors. The video is one I will always cherish. Hey guys, if anyone from here jumps with them, tell them Doug Ackerman from Lodi says "hi!" --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
  3. My prayers are already on the way...get well, Eric. I don't know you, but as one who understands the need to experience flight, you are my brother. God Bless. --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
  4. What the heck is OCD? --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~

    Thanks

Alright!! Another skydiver is born. WTG!! --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
  6. Yeah, and each frame was hand-painted. Check out the other links there, more info. I think it took like 6 months to paint all the frames --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
  7. Thanks for the clicky link...still trying to figure out how to send this post to his wife --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
  8. When I first started jumping in Lodi back in '91, I became friends with a fellow newbie and as we grew in the sport, Dan Skarry became my best jumping buddy. A little over a year ago, this dear friend passed away during a skydive and it is my personal belief that his soul never made contact with the earth-- that he is continuing to fly in the heavenly realms even now. Dan's son-in-law, Mark Mussleman of the San Francisco-based group Momu was inspired to write a song intitled "The Dive" which Dan's step-daughter, Kia Simon turned into a video. You can access this video by clicking on this link or by pasting it into your browser window. http://www.sneakylittlesister.com/movies/dive/dive_back.html I'm very honored to have known him and proud to know that the positive effects he has had on peoples lives is justified by the creative indeavors channeled into this video. --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
  9. I'm Doug Ackerman, username Skydoug (can't believe that hadn't been taken yet!) I jump out of Lodi, CA. I did my first tandem jump back in 1990 and took lessons the following week. Last year I returned from jumping after a 4 year (got married--d'oh!) hiatus. Basically, when SHE left, I returned to the drop zone! Why did I ever leave??? Any of you who jumped with me in the 90's, post a reply and let me know how you're doing. See ya in the clouds~~ --Doug-- ~~See ya in the clouds!~~
