i think hibbys a gud place to jump. when i did my tandem there everyone was reall friendly, and the gear is pretty gud.!. i sorta like the taking off on grass thing also! - not quite sure about prices... tandems about :- £220, and then if u want a video its another £70 on top of that (ouch, that burnt a hole in my wallet)
I'm looking for a tutorial (a *.pdf perhaps) concerning how to fold a main 260-270 ft. canopy.
I'm near the graduation of an AFF course and I really want to learn how to do it profoundly.
by fold u mean packing... in which case i reckon you should ask some guys down at your dz for help. there is allways someone packing up so just ask wether you can watch, and then try and get an instructor with free time to run u through the basics.
i think however that the .pdf is usefull as reference.
in england we call summer 18c and when i did my first jump it was 5c so u can guess it was pretty cold up there at 15,000 feet. i of course forgot about the temperature difference and only wore a t-shirt n loose trousers! my bollox were freezing! - ill never forget to wear those thermal underwear again hehe
i know i should really learn it before next summer, but im not coz i cant get down to the dz. so ill probably do it over the course of the week that i do my AFF (the dropzone near me does it as a 1week course), ill be staying there i expect coz i cant get my dad to bring me down each day. it doesnt take a huge amount of time learning to pack does it?
Im doing my AFF next summer, and i have heard that it is a good idea to get packing out of the way before that. - not sure what u think about that?
ive searched around on the net and found a few tutorials on the subject, but they are all very obscure. basically i want to know what a packing course entails and what sort of proof i get at the end.
i might do the book option.... and i also thought about getting my packing training, but unfortunatly im bout 2 hours away from the dropzone, and they dont do slots on the planes, they r usually very full with both students and solo's
maybe not... i believe that i am the rite 'material', and just because i want summit to fall back on it doesnt mean i aint! (and hey i wont get anywhere without money, so if i work ill get money, gud money, and then ill afford it easily)..
so that proved ur theory wrong about all skydivers being poor and screwed!
i did a tandem this year. and am saving up for AFF. BUT, ive got skydiving on the brain, and since doin it ive sorta taken a new lease on life.. my ways have completely changed. i just wanna be up there again!. argghhhhhhhhh..
u said about aff... well i have since decided to do that because i realised that i only need 8-10 jumps on that and then 10 consolidation jumps to be qualified... also my parents are going half way on the cost with me so that sorta swayed it abit
I am writing a (web-based) software package for dropzones, and I would like some input, before i get too far. I have 7 screens: -Finances -Manifest -Schedule -Packing Log -Events -People -Inventory
why dont you just use a database program like access to do it??? it would most likley be a lot more useful, and less hassle

that would get a huge response, but i expect that out of place 'bits' could cause a serious safety issue
