know when their cypress needs batteries OR needs the corn-holing maintenance.my pics & stuff! -
I met her that year while working at the san diego DZ. When she said she was learning to swoop (after of course watching a couple high turns), I told her sternly to go slow....there's no rush. She left quite an impression on me.
...as for phone numbers, I still have Wyat's.my pics & stuff! -
Very awesome weekend! I have boogie pics up.
Also...I'm doing the boogie video this year. So if you have vid you want included that you haven't already given me or Jason....please get a hold of me.my pics & stuff! -
QuoteQuoteso ummm....what's the weather like there this time of year?
well, considering it rains 18 months out of the year here, it'll prolly be shitty. hehe.
if it rains that much there....they why the hell would anyone live there? I bet with all the crappy weather, the women must be pretty big....big and tall and big.my pics & stuff! -
too funny. The kill line on mine broke last weekend and a buddy had a pc w/ the tube. I was thinking the same thing....shit, don't go sticking your digit in the tube. And what did I do on the first jump...jammed my thumb in it. I'm changin it out.my pics & stuff! -
I've been using mine for quite a while and really don't like it. Very poor fit, can barely hear the audible in a sit and zero forhead protection. Laugh...but when you head-butt another jumper (on her forhead that's not covered by her aviator)....it gets bloody. BUT....it was cheap!my pics & stuff! -
so ummm....what's the weather like there this time of year?my pics & stuff! -
QuoteI thought you would use 200 iso in bright daylight and 400/800 iso in dimmer conditions. Is that wrong?
your right. Also, the higher you go in ISO, the quality of the image drops off w/ noise. The lower the ISO, the better the quality...but the trade off is lower shutter speed, or wider aperature or both.my pics & stuff! -
I'm pretty sure you can get them from bonehead. I have one and it's very comfortable.my pics & stuff! -
I don't ever recall seeing anything like that. Is it the custom functions menu?my pics & stuff! -
Anyone know what this is? I took a long exposure last night of the stars. And when I opened it, I had the stars that streaked, and then dots that aren't streaked. I don't recall seeing that many planes fly overhead. I'm hoping it's not my sensor.
The camera is a 10D.
edit....forgot the pic.
And thanx (phree's post). Didn't know about hot pixels.my pics & stuff! -
Iwan's set up is pretty clean. Mine's death...but works great. I can remove the camera and the flash stays w/ the camera for quick ground shots.
(Iwan...you comin to the boogie again this year?)my pics & stuff! -
I totally agree. I took this with an external flash and the pilot didn't complain. In fact, I've NEVER heard of a pilot complaining of a flash....unless it was a night jump. In that case, everyone would be bitching and rightly so.my pics & stuff! -
Here's a few recent shots.

Gotta put "stash swoop cords" in there somewhere. I had my left one snag on the swedged end of the reserve cable and sinch(?) down on it.....twice. Very freaky since my left hand was now locked to the reserve cable. Now it's routine to shove them up my sleeve.my pics & stuff! -
How??? Is it $$ your talking about? I still do it and it takes penny pinching and a LOT of side jobs to make it doable.my pics & stuff! -
from my experience....the hard opening comes so damn quickly....you don't even have the time to look anywhere so you end up getting a shot of whiplash w/ your head slamming forward. So once that window of pain has passed...yes I look up and watch what's comin. My head isn't all the way back. And like I said, I shrug my shoulders to rest the back of my helmet on my rig. It works awesome and takes the rest of the load.my pics & stuff! -
Really?....never look up? Even w/ the still & flash & video, I always look up. Maybe it's cuz I like to know what's comin. Also, I shrug my shoulders so the helmet sits on the yoke of the rig to support the weight. And to add....my ring site is huge and nasty and I don't have nylon screws. Yes, I know it's bad news.my pics & stuff! -
Not the end at all. A very good buddy of mine had his replaced about 5 years ago. He's got a few thousand on the new hip and he loves it.my pics & stuff! -
Wow, how this brings me back. My first experience w/ this was seeing a TI at YOUR DZ doing exactly what you said. Though not in the co-pilot seat....the TI was seated behind the student (caravan) and talked (very loud) to the experienced jumper sitting next to them. I watched the whole deal and thought to myself "is this how you end up treating students when you've been brought up in this environment?".
Sorry, not trying to bash your DZ....it just something that has always stuck w/ me and then to see you post on this subject. PM me if you want more info.my pics & stuff! -
As a thought to the bigger slider....the bigger size (distance between grommets) could present another issue of opening too much of the canopy to the relative wind causing the same problem.
I have a domed slider (granted on a different canopy) and the difference it made was HUGE!....huge as in good huge.my pics & stuff! -
Hey dude, heard it's your bday today.
miss ya...glad I have video of you.my pics & stuff! -
I do have one hybrid and the other 3 are CRW only. I do have access to the rest of the canopies (a total of 5....4 135's and one 120).
That's about what I figured...they just aren't that popular.my pics & stuff! -
First of all, I don't do CRW and really know nuttin about it. I'm selling a bunch of gear for a buddy that has stopped jumping and doesn't want to deal w/ it anymore. I've had 3 CRW triathlon's in the classifieds and no one has even asked about them. They all have less than 100 jumps on them. I know the Lightnings seem to be the popular canopy of choice. Are the Tri's just not used? A little insight would be helpful.my pics & stuff!
