Hey, I just found out that I did not totally screw up my job interview yesterday, and that they in fact kinda liked me. They just have a couple more bodies to interview. So

1) please send good vibes and karma towards me
2) please send bad karma and vibes toward the other bodies
3) please send additional good karma and vibes to me to make up for the good karma and vibes I lost due to requesting #2

I think the people of this country are far too eager to visit death and destruction on another country. It is EASY for us, since it will not be in OUR front yard. We will watch it on CNN - again. Granted, it WILL be our people dying, but it is still all happening OVER THERE...

I ain't coming out for or against the war... just remember that it will be REAL innocent people dying over there (and we will kill a LOT of innocents, even in the PGM age we live in, it's unavoidable). Think about that before you next scream, "bomb 'em!"

I know, we saw actual carnage on our doorstep on Sept. 11. But that is over and done with except for the grief the families and friends still carry... what we are about to do in Iraq will ruin the infrastructure and cause widespread poverty and disease for a long time to come.... think about that the next time you scream, "bomb 'em!"

TSA is a friggin joke.

At an un-named bay area airport around Xmas time, in a waiting room, waiting to board...

Someone goes out the wrong door (as best anyone could guess), alarm blairs for like 5 minutes (people were holding their ears and stuff). 10 feet away from us, the TSA baggage screener people just did their own thing, clearly the attitude is "that ain't MY responsibility", ignoring the friggin alarm.

Finally a cop pokes his head in the waiting room, looks around, does a very intense investigation, "Anyone see anybody come in that door?"

Everyone shrugs...

We all get on the flight like nothing happened.

While I dreaded it, I was kinda hoping they would re-screen everyone, or at least look for tickets, or SOMETHNG....

Anybody out there work for Oracle? I may be interviewing there in the near future, need some guidance on what they like to hear (i.e. do I have to say I want Larry's baby?).

I know every functional group is a bit different but there has to be some overall corporate culture thing I should keep in mind...
