My local 7-11 has that same setup for their front gate entry. I always try to step over the beam to confuse the clerks.
At what height is the beam set to? Is it possible for a person to go over/under the beam, yet still qualify as an acceptable gate entry? Will lines trigger the alarm? -
I for one will find myself in Taft way too much this winter!!
I've read about this plane for quite a while now, and I look forward to experiencing the rocket ride to altitude. I think I might finally have a home DZ... at least for winter. -
QuoteSlayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would have to agree! They are the best! I prefer the Reign in Blood -
How about Mudvayne or Otep -
Tonight I dug out the Metallica (jump in the fire, creeping death, garage days) CD. They used to jam! -
Is there ice in Bakersfield?
j/k I know, I know, Centennial Gardens -
QuoteNo peas at Byron, Amazon. Just nice, dust-free, grassy landing area, and lots of it.
And the dreaded windmills of death and destruction!!! -
you ever notice that large industrial chimney by the Rock? What do you think of that? -
Have they started it up again?
The party continues under the name of "open house", and has been calm since '89.
Heck, I even lost my virginity behind the cemetary out by the Sunset Drive In.

Atascadero's waaaaaay better.
Are you from Atascadero Tom? or do you just enjoy the splendors of A-town?
Creston rocks.
I'll take Pozo any day!!!
Can we do a couple of jumps any time soon?
Rumor has it that there is to be an Otter in Taft in October!
One thing I did was once the nose was flaked and between my legs, I kinda stopped and just looked at what I had. Visualized where each line group is, and what exactly I was looking at. Once I had the idea of what was in front of me, the rest just made sense. It's not rocket science, but it seemed overwhelming before I understood what it was I was doing, and what I was trying to do.
Practice, practice...

I'm telling you, those windmills are intimidating!
Those are some awesome pictures JP!
I'm trying to coordinate my life to allow me to attend this years boogie. I'm working some bugs out, so hopefully I'll be there! Perhaps we can make a jump this time.

I would bitch slap him if he even suggested going 1.5!
I'll have to agree with you Mr. David. Hollister does kick ass!
It was nice to see those old AAW folks and meet even more of the H-town locals. That king-air wastes not time getting up, nor did we gettin down. $18 to 18K works well with my pocketbook.
I have to admit a first for landing out on Monday. I was surprised how quickly I burned through precious time looking for a good out. Luckily the open fields were plentiful!

That picture is great!!!
I was discussing car issues with a friend the other day, and explained to him that other than my altimeter taking a crap, my vehicle has been running well. He said "Altimeter"? It took a moment to remember "alternator"!
