Another mindless job was making the rounds to all the local vets and picking up the dead, frozen animals. We would load a pickup throughout the day and haul them back to Animal Regulation where they would be stored until the fertilizer company made their pick-up. Near the end of the day, many of the animals would begin the thaw, and handling them was not very fun. Solid on the inside, but squishy on the out.

One time I watched concrete dry overnight, and protected it from vandals. We had not vandals that night and it turned out to be an easy $150. I certainly wouldn't want it to be my fulltime gig.

If BASE jumping isn't just another skydive, why should a "Skydiving" magazine cover it?

The "Bottle Buddy" was a simple, portable devise which would speed up the consumption process. It was a short rubber tube which would fit over the lip of a bottle. A smaller piece of tubing would pierce the side of the larger tube and run to the bottom of the bottle. This smaller tubing would provide unrestricted airflow, and would eliminate the "glug" when pouring out a bottle. This basically would allow you to beer bong a single beer, or a 40oz.

My last experience was New Years a few years ago. I fitted it onto a bottle of vodka... g'night!

Is there a chance that bad things can happen if you accidently induce some sort of malfunction after the chest strap has been loosened? I was loosening my chest strap up until the day I learned that I can induce line twists, and I decided that I'd rather have my rig secure in the event I need to cut away.

What's your take on that?

Alternate DZ:

Just like to remind everyone that we have been utilizing our alternate DZ in New Cuyama when the weather doesn’t seem to want to clear here in the valley. We are flying Mullins’ King Air everyday until January 31st. switching over to weekends only throughout February. Two Cessna 182’s are available for weekday jumping.

You know, I was pretty sure it was a 750 until I received their message announcing the arrival of the 720. They're both bigger numbers than 172...

Would you be making this public apology if they were not flying Mullin's KingAir, and a PAC-720?

I saw Slayer a few years ago, with Pantera headlining. Unfortunately, Slayer's set was quite short, but was kickass none-the less. Slayer is definitely one of my favorites!

I had the pleasure of making a few jumps this past weekend after a 5 month break. I'd anticipated feeling a little out of sync, but was surprised at comfortable I was in the air, and on the ground. The landing pattern went to plan, and I felt aware of other canopies around me. I'm always caution once I've landed and normally keep an eye on canopies as they come in.
I think this website is great for non-jumping times because it allowed me to continue thinking about jumping, EP's, and other skydiving scenerios.

Why is there gray area about how to size a canopy? It seems that a physical dimension should be easy for anybody to measure, and there shouldn't be different measurements for the same piece of nylon. I've heard this a few times and never quite understood. Could you shed some light on this?
