  1. There seems to be an awful lot of people who really vehemently detest rich people. And they usually can't give any good reason for it. This has always baffled me. There are plenty of rich people who aren't detestable. Just because they have more money than you isn't a good reason. I hope to be rich someday myself, and wouldn't consider that a good reason for people to hate me.

So why do you hate the rich?

  2. Charles Koch: I'm Fighting to Restore a Free Society
Instead of welcoming free debate, collectivists engage in character assassination.

"I have devoted most of my life to understanding the principles that enable people to improve their lives. It is those principles—the principles of a free society—that have shaped my life, my family, our company and America itself. Unfortunately, the fundamental concepts of dignity, respect, equality before the law and personal freedom are under attack by the nation's own government..."

****** Ah yes. Canadians. Nothing better to do.

If I had read the entire post I would have known better. I've never seen a Dactyl get line twists.:P

There were only 7 short messages prior to your comment. Gosh, that's a whole lot of bother to read to get up to speed on the discussion before jumping in with your own comments. And being April 1st, of course one should take everything at absolute face value.

I saw the first line and asked a question.

I thought you were quitting. ;)

I was "quitting", in an April 1st message. You didn't get the gist of that one either. You should try and be more suspicious on April Fools Day... ;) Not to worry though, now that April 1st is over, we can all go back to believing everything we read on the internet. :)

" In his effort to "make the mind and body totally harmonious," Marshall has given a lot of thought to human behavior, and he has been able to play week after week despite the ankle sprains and concussions that might have sidelined lesser men. Twice Marshall kept his streak intact by walking out of hospitals where he was recuperating, once from pneumonia and this season from ulcers. On another occasion he played after accidentally shooting himself in the side while cleaning a shotgun.
Strangely, Marshall was regularly on the disabled list during the off season, victim of a life-style that produced any number of close calls. He is an avid sky diver, scuba diver, and snowmobiler.

    you're doing it wrong bro.
    Continue jumping for the women!

It's true that there are some really hot chicks at the DZ. How many jumps do you have to accumulate to get cool enough that they want to go to bed with you? Are Gold Wings a chick magnet? That might give me a goal to shoot for...

  7. Skydiving is just too darned difficult to master. Heck, you can only practice it a minute at a time, you can spend an entire year and only get two hours of practice - what kind of goofy sport is that? And before you've even begun to figure out how to be good flying on your belly, next thing you know people are asking you to fly head-down, feet-first, butt-fly, atop a board, in a squirrel suit - sheesh, make up your minds already! And who the heck can keep up with all the stupid acronyms: AFF, AAD, MLW, PC, FS, POBs, B12's... And there are names of things like bodkins and slinks and bights, oh my! For chris sake - who thinks up this stuff? A 3-ring is a good circus show, not a cut-away system - did that bearded ZZ Top guy get permission from P.T. Barnum to use that name? You've got maneuvers called things like horny gorilla, meeker, murphy flake, whacker, cataccord (what do cats have to do with accordians?), and dozens more - this is worse than memorizing grade school multiplication tables! You've got to have a college degree in calculus to understand spotting, with wind speeds at various altitudes, aircraft speed, forward throw, wind drift, freefall speed...

Frick it. I quit! I'm going bowling: Drink beer, throw a ball. Easy! Heck you can bowl for two hours in one session, more time than that whole year of freefall. And you can get drunk and bowl at the same time - now you can't say that about skydiving!

I just purchased one and hung it for inspection. I noticed the outermost attachment of the (stabilizer) was disconnected. It doesnt "quite" look like it was installed that way, instead, severed afterward. Nowhere in the package was there loose line so I'm wondering if that would be the moidification

Sounds like it. The mod removes the line from the rear corners leaving them unsupported. Looks weird, but it works. And there is enough air pressure in there to keep it from being floppy.

Yes, letting the instructor know is REALLY helpful!

Indeed. Watched a swimming pool water trainee almost drown once, because he couldn't swim. And he didn't tell anyone he couldn't swim. He jumped in, the canopy was pulled over top of him, he went to the bottom, and stayed there... We all thought he was holding his breath and messing with us. Nope, he was drowning. The lifeguard finally realized something was wrong and jumped in and saved his ass.

So yes, please let the instructors know so that they can be ready. The life you save may be your own.
