  1. I can't believe nobody has put the link to this important event

It's taking place right now. You can join the streaming live at http://www.wisc2015.com/

Who is your favourite for the 4DW?

I think Windoor Warriors and Mad Ravens could be in the fight for the 1st place

Anybody knows why is there no USA team taking part in the 4 way dynamic?

(I can only see Antigravity XP in the 2WD contest)

    ***mandatory in Spain

In Switzerland mandatory for students and tandems. Recommended for licensed skydivers. Some AAD's are prohibited at certain DZ's (Argus).

mandatory everywhere in spain, or just empuriabrava? and is it mandatory for crw jumps, etc?

As far as I know AADs are mandatory at every DZ in Spain no matter which type of jump are you doing.
I have been in Skydivespain (Seville), Skydive Madrid (Ocaña), Skydive Lillo (Lillo), Skytime (Castellon) and before you are allowed to jump your gear is checked (including AAD )

Also have friends jumping in Skydivebcn (Barcelona) and AADs are also mandatory for every skydiver despite the type of jump

  3. I don´t know whether you want to stay in Europe or cross the pond

In Spain we have a nice facility running in Seville. In fact it is Skydive Hibaldstow´s (which you may know) sister dropzone.
Has mild weather during winter, two planes and good vibe with pretty good level at freeflying and wingsuiting

  4. I may have taken a different way.

I agree with Joellercoaster about getting some jumps on your belly to begin feeling really comfortable in the air and learn how to do leg turns, side slides, fall rate changes, etc but I don´t think you should buy a FS for that. You can use a cheap all-around purpose suit for things like that

Once you´ve learned the basic skills on your belly you can progress with back and sitflying. That would be the moment to start looking for your freefly suit

    Just my 2 cents

  5. NWPoul

As you probably found - Flystation is ISG disign which is well known for it's smooth air flow)

Regarding acommodation nearby - we have our own motel right at the WT :)

Regarding English - Yep many of us (and manifest too) speak english (may be not all as "Fluent" as native speakers, but IMO quite enough for coaching))

For the rest - yes, ask for actual feedback from flyers

    Good Luck;)

    Thank you.

Any feedback from a flyer that has visited Russian tunnel?

  6. I have searched several times for some reviews of the Russian wind tunnel in San Petersburg but haven´t find much information

Had anyone here been in the tunnel and would be able to give me some feedback about it?

I already know the prices but would like to know something about the facilities, acommodation nearby, coaches experience, vibe

Do they speak fluent English to teach you in a proper way?

  7. I´ve been snowboarding regularly for the past 8 years and started using hip pad protector shorts under my pants when I started with freestyle maneuvers (jibbing/jumping)

I found them quite confortable and breathable. Once you have worn them several times you forgot about them. You can choose between models with plastic rigid parts protecting your tailbone or not

  8. I have 100 jumps on my Sabre2 loaded at 1.25-1.3 and have had really slow and soft openings most of the times (sometimes even too slow, I remember pulling at 3000 ft and after the jump checking my altimeter to see the deploy was at 1800 ft)

I noticed it´s a very forgiving canopy in terms of packing but won´t stay on heading most of the openings

I tried a Pilot 170 several times and on heading openings were common. It opens a little faster than my Sabre2 although it still feels like soft opening

  9. If I were you, I would hesitate again about buying a rig in the very near future.
I weigh 185 or so and 6ft tall.
I began my AFF course jumping a 260, and progressively downsized to 240.
I got my A license with 26 or 27 jumps and tried 220 and 200 student canopies.

I was renting smaller canopies as I was getting jumps under my belt. (tried 210 Sabre2, 190 Sabre2 and Spectre 190) until 80 or 90th jump where I began to think about getting my own rig.

I talked with instructors and with experienced skydivers and the told me to wait until I could safely jump a 170 canopy, so that would put my WL not far from 1.1

If you buy a rig which can fits a 260 canopy, and you start to jump regularly I guess you should quickly become in the need for smaller canopies which would not fit this container. Then, you would have to sell both the rig and the canopy

  10. I usually skydive at Lillo (Toledo, Spain) and as far as I am concerned the instructors are USPA instructors (Victor, Antulio, ...)

Ocaña (35 km from Lillo) has British instructors for sure (Mike Evans and Stephen Hogan), but do not know if they are also USPA instructors.

  11. I think this may help

    http://www.skydiver.com.au/userfiles/files/Atmonauti%20Explained%20by%20Marco%20&%20Gi.pdf

And if you are able to come to Spain you can find dropzones that usually organize Atmo weekends at several leves (from very begginers to advanced flyers)

  12. I finally did it. I drilled it quite easily and placed the baseplate.
The screws fit was more difficult to me although I got it done.

I will use it this weekend and hope it will work fine

Thank you for the advice and replies

P.D.- Forgive my bad written English (do not think my spoken is better)

  13. I have currebtly 120 jumps and now I am allowed at my local DZ to use a camera on the top of my g3 cookie helmet.

I have doubts about installing the cookie g3 roller mount (which would mean drilling my almost brand new helmet) or just using the sticker provided with the GoPro camera

Have any of you tried the cookie roller mount?

And if you have would you strongly recomend this instead of the sticker or is doesn´t worth the worry?

  14. Skydive Spain (Ocaña, Madrid) has a lot of English spoken instructors, 2 Pilatus Porter, nice facilities, and a friendly atmosphere.
If you are staying in Madrid it is the nearest DZ to the city and well connected by highway A4
Also you can easily find English spoken students doing their AFF courses.
