  1. Hey there and congrats! Where's your home DZ? I'm from Ashland too and I head up to Eugene.
  2. Hi there! I wish I had started when I was younger. There's a guy on my drop zone who started in high school and packing as well. Soon after he turned eighteen he had enough jumps to get his tandem rating. Now that would have been the life, sky diving to pay for college!!
  3. At the moment I live two and half hours away from one but am getting a transfer with my job so I will only be 15 min away It was about time too!
  4. Hi, and welcome to the crazy world of skydiving. It took me about a month and a half to finish my AFF course, but I also live 2 and a 1/2 hours from the drop zone so I came up about every other weekend. They do recommend that you do your jumps as close together as possible since it's easier to remember and learn that way. Anyways I'm sure they would work with you to see that you get a chance to do it!
  5. Hello everyone! I've been lurking around here for a while and thought I should introduce myself. I finally got up my nerve to make my first tandem two years ago and ended up doing a second right after the first! I loved it so much!! Although it did take me a year to come back and do the AFF, had to finish school first and earn some money, I can't imagine ever stopping now. And I'm actually transferring jobs to be closer to the drop zone, I live 2 1/2 hours away from one now. Anyways I can't imagine life now without skydiving!!!!
  6. ***Couldn't that be because of ragged out F111? That's what I was thinking. The canopy is about 10 years old and who knows how many jumps, probably 800 or so.
  7. It's a 9 cell 170. Most of the gear I rented before I got my rig was ZP newer canopies. And although our landing area is pretty much surrounded by trees on three sides there are a ton of fields and pastures right next to it that are easy to land in, (speaking from experience!). I wanted to get some others opinions, some people were saying I should get a stiletto 135, that I would have a lot more fun with it. And I am a pretty conservative pilot.
  8. Hi ya'll I been looking around to buy some newer gear. I've been jumping a F111 170, I weigh 165 out the door, and want to find something newer, smaller and ZP. I have about 90 jumps and stand most of my landings. Would a 135 be too big a jump down? What about a Sabre type versus a Stiletto? My 170 feels sluggish and I want something that's more fun to fly. Any advice? Thanks a bunch and blue skies ***If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you!!!
