Ratings and Rigging

  1. I used the wrist strap and lost the alti on my 11th jump with it. Fortunately the great people at L&B sent me a new one and I now use the hand mount.
  2. PDF suck!!!!! I have one of their rigs, but due to their lack of customer service I will never buy anything off them again. It seems they are still bad. Back in 2003 it took me a year to get my new rig from them, things obviously haven't changed. I went through a dealer and even they were kept in the dark and couldn't get a response from PDF about delivery. They have no idea about customer service or simply don't give a crap. To add to my pain the rig was supplied with a dodgy reserve ripcord that needed replacing. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM , they don't give a shit about their customers. I have purchased skydiving equipment from other manufacturers from various places on this globe, airtec, B&L, ETC, they all have GREAT customer service. Why are PDF soooooooooo BAD? They suck do not buy anything from them.
  3. In any event, if you feel nostalgia for jumping/instructing out of an Islander, you could move to Iran. http://www.paaviation.com/skydiving-in-iran.htm That's not an Islander on the front page of that site, it's a Nomad
  4. I'm pretty sure Mazda don't have a factory in Australia and they are not built at a local ford plant either. Australia builds Fords, Holdens, Mitsubishi's and Toyotas, but only very limited models. I think you are getting confused with second hand imports also known as (grey) imports and Australian delivered (sold brand new) imports. All that aside my mate owned one from new and they are great little cars, the SP20 had the 2.0l motor as opposed to the 1.8 and a lot more features standard. The SP stands for sports pack so it has sportier suspension. Personally I wouldn't trust anything a used car salesperson has to say, do your own reseach and make sure you see the service history of the car, haver a good look at it to make sure it hasn't been pranged.
  5. From a jumpers point of view, they are very slow climbers 25+ min to 10k with 8 jumpers
