  1. Unfortunately, no, they're not open any longer. Skydive New Mexico in Belen is a club and open every weekend. Great people!
  2. You may also want to check out Skydive Phoenix in Maricopa (between Flagstaff and Eloy, just south of Phoenix). In the summer, they are a 206/182 DZ. In the winter, they have a Caravan. Wingsuiters are welcome. It sits against a beautiful mountain. Good group of people. Family and dog friendly. DZ house on property for staying the weekend. Just like everywhere else in AZ, operations shut down early in summer due to heat, dust devils, etc. They can be convinced to do sunrise loads on the weekend. Gives you amazing views and more jumping opportunity. There is also a Facebook group.
  3. Skydive Rocky Point Boogie is back! https://www.facebook.com/events/1595368954086371/ April 28 - May 1 Skydive Phoenix is organizing this event. All approvals have been recieved, turbine plane is ready to go, Tecate is sponsoring, and good times are ready to be had! If you've been to the Rocky Point Boogie in it's prime, you know the excitement that awaits... Beach landings, fun times, great jumps, and, of course... Tecate! Register using this link: [url]http://goo.gl/forms/1sGplzCtbq All skydivers must have a USPA "B" license (or FAI equivalent), water training, and a flotation device. Don't forget, you need a passport or passport card to enter/exit Mexico. (Passport card is only $35. I've heard you can get it the same day if you are willing to go to Tucson and wait...) Hotel Reservations can be made directly with Hotel Laos Mar (877-736-5005) or Playa Bonita (602-512-1182). Special rate of $86 per night if you mention you are with the Skydive Rocky Point Group. (CODE 167982). Only 50 rooms are reserved! There are 40 RV slots available. We will be organizing driving caravans to leave from Skydive Phoenix to travel to the resort. More information to follow. Skydive Phoenix is sponsoring this event. You can call 480-557-JUMP for more information.
  4. Eloy is great with wonderful jumpers. They each have a different vibe and their own uniqueness. If you could swing it, you should try to experience more! The other three also have great jumpers and some amazing views. Skydive Phoenix is closest and they run a turbine with great mountain views. Enjoy your time!
  5. PM me with your email and I'll send you mine. Not extra special, but includes some calculations that I wanted to know... It's in Google Docs, so if you have a GMail account it would be easier.
  6. I know it's really late notice, but we are throwing this together pretty quickly. Hopefully some of you can make it! This weekend (12/6 and 12/7) $21 jumps ($15 before 10am). Cash price. Skydive Phoenix; 56580 W Dasher Dr; Maricopa, AZ www.facebook.com/events/818468168196459
  7. That's great! I think I had one of the ladies interested in coming back to get her license, but we'll see... So many people are thrilled with the idea after their first jump and never follow through. (Then again, I'm one of those... It only took me 7 years to get back out...) John - if you still see your student, point her in the direction of SIS? I'd love to meet up with her!
  8. 0(2):4 Was honored to be the interpreter for 5 Deaf students on Saturday. Got to ride the plane up to interpret for them on both loads. Had to ride the plane down on both loads, too. :-S Odd to wear your rig, be in the plane, and not get out when the door opened! BUT, the pilot did give us (there was a student pilot with us as well) an AWESOME descent! Sunday - 4 amazing coach jumps. So close to her A stamp!

    Skydive Phoenix

Great DropZone with friendly people, comfortable packing area, and amazing scenery (see Phoenix, sunsets, mountains, and more! Get away from looking at farms...). Everyone from tandems to experienced jumpers feel like part of the family. Caravan has arrived and loads turn quickly. Staff is helpful and available. If you come to the area and want to get away from the chaos of a large DZ, but still have confidence in the safety and staff, this is the place to go!
