  1. the rig in question had a BOC deployment.not sure if it was a hackey, though. the voodoo rig is supposedly freefly friendly. there is currently an investigation by the Australian Parachute Federation, i believe. no doubt, gear checks are not just for students. get well soon Affy.

    Beer?

yeah, when you first start jumping it seems that you are spending as much on beer as on jump tickets but that soon equals out.......there are always new people coming through with new `firsts` so you`ll get all those beers back,my friend and a whole lot more! (BURRP!)

    I did it!!

go girl! i remember my surprise and elation when my first pack job opened as well. congratulations pammi!
  4. it`s obvious with the australian dollar (the south pacific peso) the way it is, you could easily jump your arse off and still shout me free beer all night for suggesting it, without going broke. i usually jump in sydney, but there are quite a few different d.z`s you could check out over here... it`s now autumn in australia but i`m sure it`ll still feel pretty warm to you. anyway, whatever you decide- go big!
  5. this is a great site! what do you guys think about running a photo competition, maybe monthly/bi-monthly. i`ve been taking some pretty cool shots,if i may say so ,myself and i could use a new rig( did i mention, you could talk those cool ppl at sunpath to donate a javelin.....great positive exposure) anyway keep up the good work guys.
  6. hi david, i have about 300 jumps and i am about to start jumping with a camera.this is not a decision i am rushing into, and neither should you.infact rather than putting it straight on my head i`ve just been taken landing shots while i get totally familiar with my new camera(an canon eos300).while i`m very anxious to start jumping it, i understand the extra potential complications that could arise.therefore at the moment i`m doing `dummy` camera jumps....ie: pretending i have a camera on my head while i try to get where i would want to be for a good shot etc.also i`m wearing wings which take a bit of getting used to......will you be using wings?? anyway, good luck for the future.i suggest you talk to as many experienced cameraflyers as possible, as i have about the extra potential dangers involved....it isn`t worth rushing into if you will be compromising safety.
