If you are coming from a cold weather dz (like here in Mich.) and jumping at a warm humid dz (like Florida sometimes) be aware that the air is different. Your canopy will fly different. This will change your flare. More humid and warm- more flare. And this from a non-drinker...the advice about bringing a case of good beer is not a bad idea.

I just acquired a Sony Mini DV (DCR-TRV22) from my son. What do I need to adapt this to our sport? Lens? Mount? Remote Switch? I have a Nvertigo-X helmet. Just want to fool around with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tom Beals

Last weekend I went through Brian's Canopy Course. I found it to be really good stuff. He does a nice job. I had heard him before in seminars but this was the first time that I had actually taken his class. He did a good job of presenting his information. If any one has the opportunity to take this I would recommend it. To state the obvious: He is not the only one with good information. But I still recommend his class. Tom Beals D22447 600+ jumps

Florida DZ's - conditions after tornado??

I have about 450 jumps on a Spectre. After a couple of long snivels I changed the way I pack. I do Pro pack. I do not roll the nose. Just let it hang. I pull the slider out the back and sides letting the front just hang down. Since I started packing this way I have not had a loong snivel. But the openings are still soft. Along with the advice already given I would add that you need to check the condition of your pilot chute. Does make a difference. But if the loong part of the opening is after line stretch the pilot chute has done its job. If you are looking up at a rectangular chute with the slider up and everything just shaking in the breeze then again the pilot chute has done its job. Like already said. Only change one thing at a time when you are trying out this stuff...... Tom Beals

I think that they are nylon. And any good hardware store should carry them in their special nuts and bolts section. Tom Beals
