matc 0 #1 August 29, 2010 Hello, I know a guy who modded his blade 2 by sewing a pouch inside each sleeve in which he inserted a pool noodle cut in half along it's lenght. It creates a semi-rigid leading edge and apparently, it did improve the winsguit performance. Has anyone ever tried this ? I'm gonna try it on my GTI but without sewing a pouch first to see it it's worth the trouble. So far, it looks promising in front of the mirror
mccordia 74 #2 August 29, 2010 Several wingsuits have a semi-rigid leading edge.. For suits such as a GTI, a larger legwing will probably ad more drive than a foam leading edge...JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
matc 0 #3 August 29, 2010 I agree but messing with a leg wing is much more complicated than sticking some foam noodle in a sleeve !
Zeemax 0 #4 August 30, 2010 I'd be wary of adding a bit of foam noodle to your arm sleeve without securing it in some manner. Come unzip time, that could get 'fun'.Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
davelepka 4 #5 August 30, 2010 I'd be real careful that it doesn't effect your arm movement in any way, to include pulling, cutting away, pulling the reserve, unzipping or un hooking anything. If it's not secured in there, where can it go, and what harm can it do there? Overall it seems like a bad idea. Unless you need the performance to over fly a ledge on a BASE jump, how about just work on your performance, and not the suit.
