How to do a proper high speed exit

Recommended Posts

well, i did my first high speed exit this weekend.
in a phantom. 3rd ws jump this year/weekend. about 40 total.
and it felt...weird. i was rocking and bumping around and just could not get in a(from my gut feeling) proper flying position for the first 1-2sec or so. still stayed a little above the plane all the time, belly to earth, not unstable.it was a tailgate aircraft, i fully spread my wings right on exit. pilot said he heard a bang so loud he thought my suit ripped....it didn't.
just a small tear in the leather of one bootie. don't know if it is from that particular exit.
sooo...any hints how to do it better?

Your body should be at a +- 45 degree angle. So the relative wind hitting you deflects downward, and pushes you up.

If you jump out too straight (standing upright) the wind will smack your wings, and do nothing more but push you back.
